Hermione was exited, today she finally would get to meet a wizard, but not just any wizard no. She would meet Albus Dumbledore himself, greatest wizard of all times. From the moment she could talk and remember, her parents had told her that she was different from the other mere-folk. It took her some time for her to understand that it wasn't in a bad way, though she could tell her parents were a bit worried when they told her this. So at the age of 5 she was told that she could not only do mermaid magic, but also land magic, meaning magic of a witch, she of course though that they were joking since she had heard some elderly mere-folk couple talking about something similar a few weeks ago, a legend. A myth. That is until she got so upset that she made some cracks on the cave that they lived in.

Since that day, Hermione has been asking questions none stop about the wizarding world that, unfortunately her parents could not answer completely. To try and appease her, Helena and Derek Granger took her to the town nearby, making Hermione a bit nervous to walk on land but once she got used to it she felt accomplished, as much as possible and it work, for there was a small bookstore in said town and she loved to read, and the owner had no qualms in letting her read for hours on end. They also taught her about humans and her kind, History, Runes, Artimancy, and how to control her mermaid given powers; such as the power to control and bend water at will, communicate with sea creatures and they taught her how to sing, not like the Sirens, but to sing in a beautiful voice.

Now almost 11 years of age, she was swimming around the front of their home, full of energy waiting for her parents to come out so they could head over to the pier and meet Dumbledore.

"Mom! Dad! Hurry up!"

"Now now Hermione, be patient." Her mother soon came out, her brown hair was short and her eyes were blue, were as her father's were brown.

"I know mum, I just can't seem to stay still! I mean we get to meet Dumbledore!"

Derek chuckled as he swims towards his daughter and hugs her. "We know hun, let us be off, we will be a tad early but with you? That will look like we are half an hour late." Hermione pouted making her father laugh and her mother smile before they started swimming towards the pier, being careful of humans. Not many believed in mermaids anymore, but there were still some that did. Those that still believed, always set out to hunt them, and should they be succesful in catching or even harming a mermaid or merman, said creature had the right to retaliate in whatever way they saw fit, though they tried not to kill as much as possible.

They arrived at the docks and looked around before her parents got out first and then her. The moment they were out of the water and focusing a bit, their tails were replaced by legs. They walked towards a bench and they noticed a man standing beside it, looking at them.

He was pretty elderly, with a beard that reached his stomach. Grey hair almost as long as his beard, eyes a light blue with a glint in it that looked both smart as well as mischievous. What stood out the most was his clothes, they were robes, purple in color with some patterns as well. Hermione suddenly felt shy and stayed a step behind her father. Her father held her hand as they stopped before the elder man.

"Good morning, my Name is Derek Granger and this is my mate and wife Helena Granger. You must be Mister Dumbledore"

Said man smiled "Please, Call me Albus or Dumbledore if you will. It is a pleasure to meet you" he extends his hands and both adults shake it before his eyes land on Hermione "And you must be Miss Hermione Granger."

"Y-yes sir" she blushed at her voice cracking. Dumbledore smiled at her and nodded in her direction before looking around and taking out a long looking stick from his robes and giving a wave. The Grangers gasped as the bench turned into a picnic table with some shade for all of them to sit on. Hermione looked at the stick and realized it was a wand.
