Ch.4 She Knows

Evan's pov

I honestly cant believe that Tyler would make me do something like that to someone...then again me from last year would have no problem with doing.

I walk out of the locker room and head for the front doors.

I walk home trying to wrap my head around things, out of the corner of my eye is see someone heading towards me.

"Listen Fong, I dont know what kind of sick prank you are planning on pulling on Jon but you need to back the he'll off" Anne gives me a very serious look.

"Jealous much..." I say smirking.

"No, but Jon is my best friend, and whatever or however you are planning to hurt him I would stop while you are ahead...Jon goes through enough on a daily basis he doesn't need you hurting him." She started off serious but ended with giving me a pleading look...

"I wouldn't hurt Jon," I told her

"...you would if it meant saving you spot on the hockey team." She said crossing her arms.

I stare at her bug eyed wondering how on earth she knew about the deal..

"How did-"

"I went to give the coach a note after talking to Jon..." She began "I walked past the locker room and I could hear Tyler's booming voice, I listened to the deal and I knew that Jon would get hurt....because he likes you. He really does, you can see it in his eyes." She takes a deep breath "Look Fong, I know you may not care or want to care, but Jon doesn't deserve to be hurt like this...just take into consideration at least" she finishes her speech and walks off.

She knows...if she knows she might try and warn Jon!

I have to find Jon...I don't want to lose any chance I have of being his friend, but I cant lose hockey either it is the only chance I have of going to college.

I jog back in the direction Anne went and try and find Jon.

I find all three of them standing by the lockers Anne talking to Jon. I try and listen in.

"Jon he is using you!"

"How would you know?!"

"I overheard him and Tyler talking, he made a deal with Tyler to save his spit on the hockey team"

"He wouldnt do that Anne, Evan has changed!"

"No he hasn't Jon he is the same cruel bastard he has always been!"

"Don't say that about him!"

"Its the truth!!"

"Shut up Anne"

"Fine!, but dont say I didn't warn you!"

Anne storms off, Jon does something I didnt think he would do...he punched a locker, leaving a dent, and walked off.

I quickly hid behind the corner as he past. I just ruined Jon's friendship and I did nothing but watched it happen..

Maybe I am a cruel bastard....

Jon doesn't deserve to be hurt but I don't deserve to lose my spot on the hockey team...

I'll hate doing it to Jon but I have to get to college...this is my only way.
