Beep... Beep...
You shifted under the covers. Your hand drifted over your pillows as you opened your eyes. Soft yellow sunlight clung to the air. Your breathing was calm and slow. You looked at the figure next to you, but they looked faded, almost transparent. You could read their lips."Wake up..." He whispered.
"What?" You asked, tone quiet.
"Wake up!!" He repeated, now louder.
You furrowed your brow, his harsh and desperate tone confusing you. "Sans?" You said, louder than before.
You blinked and the image flickered. You didn't lay in a cushy bed, nor a proper room in general. The space felt small and hot. Then loud banging. You blinked, swaying between worlds and wondering which was real. You wanted to stay in bed, veils of golden light drifting over the air and laying with the one you loved. But you didn't feel you belonged there.
Beep... Beep...
You continued to blink until a long grunt rolled out of your throat. Your eyes adjusted to the dark and you tried to pull yourself up. Your legs felt heavy and seered with pain. Exhaustion laced your movements. Your thoughts were scrambled and chaotic. It hurt to try and arrange your thoughts. You called out to the only one you wanted to see.
"Sans..." you murmured as loudly as you could.
Your head snapped to the side as metallic grinding took your attention. You peered through the black, but you could not see much. You felt too weak. Your soul was outside of you for too long. Holding out your palm, you let the small heart float back into your hand. It melted into your flesh and your chest felt instantly lighter, pink magic glowing through your veins.
Hands grabbed at you viciously and yanked you into tight embraces. You stifled pained cries. You could see light again. But only sillouhettes. It was almost like your mind was rebooting. It would explain your temporary loss of senses. "Sans..." You rasped. "Where are you?"
You couldn't process any of the fuzzy speech, but you felt a grip on you. He must be holding you. You traced the blob up to glowing red eyes and you smiles. "Sans... my legs hurt." You joked.
"Get Mettaton." He growled away from you. From his pocket he revealed a familiar bottle of pills. Toriel's magic was almost palpable from a faint green aura surrounding the capsule removed. "Eat this." He ordered.
You complied easily, knowing your lack of consious thought and burning pain must surely have probable cause. You swallowed it dry, the gel capsule sliding slowly down your throat and working instantly to close your wounds. As your strength returned, enough to collect your sporatic thoughts at least, you looked around and tried to register your ruby-soaked recollection.
The small room was sure enough smeared in blood with miscellaneous torture devices scattered from a metal table that now rested on it's side. Your eyes caught glimpse as your two closest friends secured familiar metal arms in tight rope bonds. Your eyes widened slightly as you looked at the red metal panels of the murderous gay toaster. He was covered in dents and fine cracks. Coats of red paint chipped away like someone had driven nails just beneath the color layers. He looked defeated and ashamed as Dash glowered over him. Rei bustled around the room, collecting the tools that peirced your own flesh and placing them neatly on the table again.
Your brow furrowed as you tried to stand. "What're you guys doing?" You asked, voice breaking softly but remaining constant for the most part.
"Don't try to walk!" Sans warned. "Your legs are still broken until we can get Tori to-"
"I'm fine. Just let me get up." You cut off. Your soul split and surrounded your legs, large braces bracketing your limbs and allowing you to move, though it be robotically.
