One bullet passed by my shoulder, but the other shots hit Ariel in her lower back. She fell down to the ground, slowly. I ran to her and picked her up. I turned around and saw that all the guards were did expect for one, then I noticed it was Liam. He looked at me upset and asked, ''Do you need help?''

I just looked at him with no expression and said, ''No, I'm good.'' I've been keeping this nice act for so long and I don't know how much longer I can keep up with it. He tried helping me anyways and for some dumb reason that broke me, ''I said that I'm good! You never know when to stop! I'm done keeping up with this stupid act! I told myself that this stupid act would be worth it, but no more!'' I then took a breather and continued as tears rolled down my checks, ''Liam I never forgave you for what you did to me and I don't think I ever can. You broke my heart. I cried for years.''

He then put his hand on my face and said, ''I'm so sorry. I never-''

Before he could finish his sentence I yelled, ''Just fucking go Liam!''

''But let me explain.''

''Please go!'' He finally left and I started running again while carrying Ariel and never looked back.

I woke up in a small and beautifully lighted room. I tried laying up straight, but the pain was overwhelming then a voice spoke, ''Here are some pain pills.'' It was Lori.

''What happened?'' I asked as I took two painkillers.

With a big smirk she said, ''I saved your life.''

I looked at her and rolled my eyes, ''I know.''

''And don't you forget it.'' She exclaimed with a big smile.

I just rolled my eyes again and said nothing. Until I realized something was missing. Will more like someone was missing, ''Where is Liam?''

Lori then said, ''Remember we decided to leave him. I told you he would understand.''

I was so confused because I was sure I heard him while Lori was carrying me. However, I didn't want to bring up that I heard the whole conversion. I just looked at her and said, ''Oh right. My mind is just a little fuzzy from all the loss of blood.'' She handed me coffee and a plate of eggs and buttered bread. ''How long have I been out?''

She looked at me surprised as if I was supposed to know, ''You've been out for a week.'' I couldn't believe I was unconscious for so long. She then told me what I missed, ''The commander and his guards have been looking for us so, we're hiding in this little cottage. Liam has been missing for the whole week. I've been trying to create a attack plan, but it hasn't been going so well until I found-.''

Before she could finish a tall shirtless man came out of a room, ''Oh good she's awake.'' He was tall, but not crazy tall. His hair was black and curly and he had pale skin. The man also had scars and scratches on his body.

''This is Ace. He found me and told me he could help us.'' She looked very worried. Like she was scared what I was going to say, but before I could say anything he spoke up.

''I'm also a demon. I think that's what you forgot to mention Lori. That's why she's so worry.'' He said it so nonchalantly. Like trusting a demon is not that big of a deal.

I was astonished, ''Really Lori, you're that desperate? Trusting a demon is a rocky road.'' Lori nodded to my question. Then I turned to Ace and asked him, ''How can we be sure we can trust you?''
