A/N: Above is a picture of Kasey played by Rowan Blanchard
After Kat had been released from the YoungOffenders Institute, her only purpose in life became to accomplish the vow she had made to Noah.
For the next six years, Kat studied vigorously. She passed her exams, gaining A*'s in all subjects. This was a huge achievement for Kat, as before she had met Noah, she had no interest in school. 'The promise' gave her the motivation she needed to succeed.
When Kasey had passed away, Kat had given up hope in her own future. For long nine years she had blamed herself for her sister's death. Kat wished that she had allowed Kasey to sit in the front seat of the car. They had always argued about that seat and if only she knew what was going to happen. The lorry had crashed into the back of the car, so Kat and her mother were saved, but Kasey died instantly. If she had just sat in the back, then Kasey would have been alive, and Kat would not.
After Kasey passed, Kat spiralled down. She went down the wrong path and meddled with drugs, which landed her in prison. She found that drugs calmed her and made her feel good. She knew it was only a temporary feeling but it was all she thought she had.
Katherine went onto obtaining excellent grades at college, which secured her a place in a greatly respected university. Law was her chosen career path, as she watched the police officers during her time in jail and wanted to protect people from all the bad out there. Like herself. She was bad. She tried not to be. No, actually she didn't try at all, but that all changed after she met Noah.
