Three days passed
The two fifteen-year-old teenagers became very close. They spent their hours talking, and sharing personal experiences. As Noah spoke about her own arduous life outside the prison, Kat's connection towards her grew stronger. She never thought she could befriend someone, love someone again. Her friendship with Noah was a miracle for her. It was her key to unlock the door of hope and normality. Especially when she found out that Noah had a younger sister, Neve who was in foster care. Now, that was the last stepping stone to knowing Noah was her life saver. Kat knew she would never be alone, as long as Noah was alive.
Noah's constant concerns were revolved around eight-year-old Neve's future. Knowing how her new friend felt, Kat made the most responsible decision of her life. She took a long breathe, like it was the last she'd ever take, and whispered, "I promise that when I turn twenty one, I will find and take Neve into my care."
Noah's eyes widened and before even a second could pass, she was throwing her arms around Kat. Kat's wet shoulder was the silent response that came from Noah. The only response.
