"Hey strangers," said a familiar voice. Derek and I who were waiting for the elevator after picking up the kids, both turned around.

"Addison? what are you doing here?" Derek who was holding Bailey in his car seat asked.

"I came for a surgery. Are these your kids? They are getting so big."

"Yeah, how are you?" I asked being friendly.

"I'm good. I adopted a baby, I also got married."

The elevator dinged, finally arriving. "Wow, well congratulations. We will see you around." Derek said as we got in the elevator.

"Bye" Addison said. we waved bye then the elevator closed and we looked at each other.

"That was weird and unsuspected," I said to him.

"Very."

*DEREK'S POV*

I just scrubbed out of surgery and was walking to update my patients family when Addison walked up next to me.

"Hey Addison."

"Hey, how was surgery? By the way your kids are adorable. What's the baby's name again?"

"It was good. Thanks and it's Bailey, after Meranda."

"Oh, yes, that's right Amelia told me about all that." I just kept walking trying to get to the waiting room. "Do you want to go to Joes later?"

"Addie I know we never see each other and we are all over the whole ex husband and wife thing but I have things to do. Plus I have kids now."

She stopped and looked a little upset, "oh okay, sorry."

"No, I'm sorry. I'll see if Mer and I can get a sitter for tonight then I'll get back to you."

She smiled then left. I turned around and pushed open the waiting room doors.

"Are you ready to go to Joe's?" I asked meredith.

"Zola isn't feeling good so I'm just going to go home with her, but you go with Addison and have a couple drinks and i'll see you at home." she kissed my cheek.

"I'll go with you."

"No, go have fun we are friends with her now and she will only be in town for awhile."

I rubbed her arm, "are you sure?"

"Yes, now go." I kissed her and she walked off.

*MEREDITH'S POV*

I woke up at midnight to Derek walking in to the room. He walked over to the bed and turned on the lamp on his bedside dresser. I tried to ignore him but then he said my name.

"I'm awake." I said.

"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you. But we need to talk." after the sentence came out of his mouth I turned to face him and sat up, "what's wrong?"

"It's not a big deal but I know the right thing to do is to tell you."

"Derek you're scaring me please just say it."

"Addison kissed me," he wasn't done talking but I interrupted.

"What? why? did you kiss her back? I swear Derek if you did I will be so disappointed."

He sat on the bed and kissed my forehead then grabbed my hands, "no I didn't kiss her back, I have absolutely no feelings for her. She got a little to drunk and just kissed me and I pulled away and told her I was happily married and for her to go back home and not to come back to Seattle then I left." he kissed one of my hands. "I love you, I'm not trying to start a fight I just wanted to do the right thing." how could I be mad at him? He didn't do anything wrong.

"I love you too and I trust you and I'm glad you told me." then I fell asleep, making sure if I saw Addison I would let her have it.
