{ A/N: first of all, i do not want anyone to hate on others ships. in my opinion Japis (Jasper/Lapis) is abusive and i will not change my mind on that one.
this one shot/short story/chapter is about Peridot and Lapis hanging out together and at some point the two of them have a deep conversation. idk i'll try. also, just a reminder that in this au camp pining hearts is more like a teens/adults series.
remember that this is a human au i created. you can find artwork from my ig and tumblr. }°~•~°~•~°
A soft giggling sound could be heard from a red barn as the moon and thousands of stars shined on the night sky. Two young women were sitting together inside, watching their favourite series, Camp pining hearts. "Percy get over it! It's obvious that Pierre would be much better for you than Paulette!" Peridot said with an annoyed tone. She moved her glasses on top of her head. "I don't really care who Percy wants to be with. It's his own business." Lapis muttered, glancing at the shorter woman next to her. A yawn passed through Peridot's lips, she leaned against Lapis' shoulder, trying her best not to fall asleep. Soon failing. Lapis noticed that Peridot had fallen asleep, thinking it was cute how the blonde made quiet noises in her sleep. "Hey, Peri. Are you comfortable?" Asked Lapis. Peridot opened her left eye slightly, then quickly sitting up again: "I-I wasn't sleeping!" "Yes, you were." Lapis giggled sweetly. Like she always did. As Peridot's green eyes met Lapis' blue ones, it felt like everything stopped for a brief moment. Though they were both distracted when a commercial could be heard on the TV, it was one of those 'if you're in abusive relationship, don't be afraid to ask for help' commercials they had been showing lately. "I- uh- um-" Peridot stuttered out after Lapis had gotten the remote and turned off the television, a terrified and a tad shocked expression on her face. Peridot felt a bit bad. She knew about Lapis' past and how she had been in a abusive relationship with this one person, Jasper. Peridot simply didn't want to make Lapis feel uncomfortable by saying something stupid. "Lapis," Peridot hesitated to continue her sentence. "Yes?" Replied Lapis. "Do you want to talk abou-" "No." Lapis responded simply and fast. Peridot bit her lower lip, trying not to say anything. The two of them sat there in pure silence for a long moment that felt like forever. "You know that I won't force you to talk, but if you ever want or need to talk about Ja- her. I'm right here." Peridot broke the silence and placed her hand on Lapis'. "That's very sweet, Peri, but I don't think I'll be able to talk about it..." Lapis looked down and slowly pulled her hand away from under Peridot's. Lapis stared into the distance for a moment again, obviously deep in thought. Peridot did the same but faced the opposite direction. "Do you want to go outside? Star gazing?" Lapis asked, still looking away. Peridot nodded in agreement. She would do anything to get out of this moment.
The two women were lying on the dry, soft, grass, under thousands of stars. It was still silent but it didn't bother the two of them. It was nice. "It's amazing, isn't it?" Peridot sighed as she put her both arms under her head, "The universe I mean. There are so many different galaxies and stars and planets we can't even see them. And from all of those people who exist in this universe, I get to be here with you." Peridot didn't really think what she was saying. The words just came through her lips. Lapis hummed in agreement as a rosy blush appeared on her cheeks. "It is." She sighed with a slight smile. "The stars are pretty too." Continued Lapis Lazuli. Peridot chuckled lightly, "Stars sure are pretty when you look at them from down here. But really they are just luminous spheres of plasma held together by their own gravity, sometimes they have nuclear fusions that might change their forms." She said it like it was the simplest thing in the whole world that even a little kid would know. Lapis started to laugh, snorting at the same time. Peridot couldn't help but smile at this, it always made her happy. There was something about this blue haired woman which made the Blonde always smile. Lapis brushed her hand through her fringe as she sighed once again. The expression on Lapis' face soon turned sadder, she muttered out a sentence that made Peridot a bit upset: "Jasper never did anything like this with me..."
Peridot sat up and looked at Lapis who was still lying on the grass. "What we had wasn't healthy.. I never felt safe..." Lapis seemed like she had gotten carried away, like she didn't pay attention to the fact that Peridot heard it all. Or at least that's how Peridot felt. "Lapis.. I-I'm sorry.. That's horrible.." Peridot gulped as she placed her hand on Lapis' shoulder after the dark skinned woman had sat up as well. "Every day was the same hell.. She called me names.." Lapis placed her arms on her knees and hid her face into her hands. "She called me a monster.." A quiet sob escaped Lapis' lips. This made Peridot frown and move closer to the other. "Jasper can't hurt you anymore. You don't have to be worried anymore. You're safe here with me." The short woman had seen Lapis like this only once before, it was before they even lived in the barn together. "Everything's going to be fine, Lapis." Those words made Lapis look up at Peridot. "Thanks, Peri." She wiped her glassy eyes and smiled. Peridot smiled back at her, "A hug?" She asked and opened her arms. "A hug." Answered Lapis, wrapping her arms around the other. Feeling the short female's arms around her, Lapis felt a lot better. Everything was a lot better.
