Chapter 41

I woke up in my hotel room and it is freezing cold.
I looked at my clock and it read 5h00 am in the morning.
"Really!" I moaned.
I had a shower and went to have breakfast.
It was time to go for my meeting.
But before I do let me get dressed professionally.
I called for a cab and it took me to the
Santiago Cabrera Firm.

I have arrived and the receptionist was looking at me like I am nothing.
"Aaaa Miss Martins!" I turned around and saw Mr Cabrera walking towards me and smiling.
"Good Morning Mr Cabrera."
"Please call me Santiago Teylie!" He smiled.
"Please follow me!"

We went to his office and it is not as big as the Smit Firm.
"So, I have been looking at your school records and I was amazed by your score Teylie."
"Well, thank you Santiago."
"And when I saw that you were working at the Smit firm I thought to myself, if she is that good then I need her on my team not theirs."
I smiled and looked down at my feet. The Smit family as been soo good to me and yes I fell in love with Greg. But he is nowhere to be seen.

"So Teylie I want to offer you an amazing opportunity here at the Cabrera Accounting Firm."
Mmm this is now or never Teylie. I thought to myself. If he left me then so be it what is the point at staying there when I can't see him or be with him anymore.
"What are you offering Mr Cabrera?" I looked at him with a professional look.
"Very Well, you will be getting  $50.000 a month plus a company car!"
Wow $50.000 and a company car.

"Deal. When do you need me to start?" I asked.
"When are you available?" He asked.
"Well to respect Mr Smit I need to give him a month notice."
"Of course. Here is my number and let me know when you want to start as there will always be space for you." Mr Cabrera.
"Thank you Mr Cabrera I will do so." I said getting up.
"Thank you so very much for your time Mr Cabrera!" I said and shook his hand.
"No thank you Miss Martins. Till next time I hope!" He said and nodded.

I got to the hotel room and I called my mom to tell her and she said I must take the deal.
John also said I need to take it as it will be a good thing for me.
I told them all that I would sleep on it.

After I arrived home. I went to Dexter and Sandras house.
"Aaaa Teylie. What do we have the honor in having you over?" Sandra said hugging me.
"I am here to see Dexter, if he is available." She looked at me worried and nodded.

After I told Dexter that I am leaving. They were happy but also sad.
"If you need anything Tey. You know you can call me anytime?" Sandra said. Dexter agreed he even said that there will always be place for me.
I hugged both of them and a tear rolled down my cheek as I said bye to them.
I called Sam and I told him he was happy for me and said it will be a good idea.

I called Mr Cabrera and told him that I am interested and he was so happy.
He said I can start next month and that I must get a place he will pay me for this month. I was so happy as I get my money from Smit Oil firm and Mr Cabrera salary. I can finally get my own place.
"Sam!" I called out and Sam came running in my room.
"Yeah!" He said.
"Wanna come to Chicago to house hunt with me?" I asked.
"Sorry Tey I can't!" Sam said looking down.
"No problem Sam!" I said hugging him.
"I need to collect an member of the firm's!" He said.
"Sam I do understand!" I said kissing his cheek. He blushed and walked off.

I got a message to say I got my salary.
"Teylie Martins you have been paid $100.000 from the Smit Oil firm. Your available amount is $100,050!"
Holy Fuck!
I went to sleep as I was tired.
