When I woke up it was dark with little light coming in through the windows. John Dirk was nowhere to be found. I closed my eyes though and concentrated. I could summon someone! But who? Sky’s mom? Mr. Lawrence? I called Sky’s mom considering how I never really met the real Mr. Lawrence. She materialized in front of me and yelped.

Deadly serious I said, “I know who your murderer is but your going to have to help me first.”

Before I knew it we figured out Mrs. Lawrence could ended Sky’s dreams. Hoping we could send some sort of message she left. I waited and waited and waited and waited some more. No one came. All hope was lost. I was going to die.

Tears spilled softly down my face. It was all over yet all I could think about was Sky. Where was he? How could he not notice that I was gone? Why didn’t he come find me? Was he even looking for me? Then I remembered, Sky wasn’t a full werewolf yet. His senses hadn’t become heightened and hadn’t developed. If he crossed my trail he wouldn’t pick it up. Then the door crashed open and I jumped overturning the chair and down I went face first into the floor.

There stood Sky huffing and puffing. He flipped on the light and ran over to me untying the knots Dirk had made muttering, “We have to go we have to get out of here now!” When he had finished untying the knots I stood up quickly swaying as the blood rushed back to my legs. He grabbed my hand and pulled me forward hugging me tightly to his body. That’s when I knew the Twins had been right, at that moment when I looked up into Sky’s eyes I knew that I loved him and he loved me utterly and completely. Surprising myself I pulled his head down and pressed my lips against his.

For a moment he just stood there letting me kiss him till he realized I was kissing him. He kissed me back and it was everything I hadn’t felt with Jake. Everything I wanted, hoped, and even dreamed about. Sky was mine and I was his. Our kiss began even deeper and he pulled my even closer. It seemed impossible to pull away. His lips were so soft against mine and I never wanted to stop kissing him. I wanted to stay in his arms forever and I never wanted to go back to the reality that we faced. The danger we faced.

I sighed as I pulled away when the dagger pierced me in the side. I cried out and fell to the floor gasping as the blood spilled out from around the dagger. I looked down at the pool of blood that was quickly forming near my side. I heard Sky scream out my name and I felt another dagger pass by my body as I struggled to get up when I saw the scene before me.

Sky was shaking and shaking badly his muscles rippled and twitched and his breath was heavy and labored. He looked as if he were having a seizure. Then I knew. Sky was angry and sometimes when young werewolves get extremely angry it sort of brought about the change quicker than normal.

John Dirk stood in the doorway blocking our only exit. His hands glowed with pure auric energy and they crackled and snapping violently around more daggers he held in his hands. We had absolutely no chance against him; I was a necromancer not even fully trained and what use would that be against a powerful fully trained sorcerer? Sky was an inexperienced werewolf who hadn’t even changed yet. Even if he did change would he have any clue what to do?

I grabbed Sky’s arm for support as I stood up and pulled my hand back. His skin was on fire as if his temperature was over 100 degrees! Another side effect of the change. This couldn’t be normal even for the change. It had to be progressing too fast but how would I know? I only knew what little I did from what Sky had told me. Then with a terrifying growl and the sound of ripping clothes he exploded completely transforming into an enormous wolf.

And all of this had happened in a matter of seconds. I was thrown back onto the floor as Sky, in wolf form, launched himself at Dirk pinning him to the ground. I watched as the knives clattered across the floor. Then he twisted his huge wolf head and looked at me and then the ropes on the floor as John Dirk blasted his with a dark red lightning looking strike. I watched as Sky’s enormous wolf form was thrown across the room and as he crashed through the cabin’s wall illuminated in the dark red light. I crawled into a corner and pulled the dagger out of my side quickly covering the wound as even more blood spilled out. There was so much blood! It hurt so badly and I knew again I was on the brink of passing out what with my reopened neck wound from before and the wound from the dagger. Sky bounded back inside the cabin once again but this time when he pinned Dirk he didn’t hold back.

I watched as Sky’s big huge wolf body ripped John Dirk limb from limb. The man’s cries were horrifying but not as horrifying as the sound of ripping flesh and the sound of blood hitting the floors and walls. The man’s last gurgling breath would haunt me and Sky’s memories forever. I crawled over to Sky and yanked on his fur, hard. He yelped out in pain as the hair pulled out. I shook my head as I said, “Enough. He’s dead now. Don’t let the wolf completely take over the human. That is where you will lose yourself completely.” I watched as a shudder passed through his body and as he shrunk back into his human form.

“Lola,” he said breathing heavily, “how can you not be in shock? I just turned into a wolf and then killed someone. You got stabbed in a really bad place. Why aren’t you screaming and running?”  Then his voice shook, “I just killed someone. I just killed someone. I didn’t mean to. It was an accident…..”

I threw my arms around him, “Sky you’re a hero! My hero. I know you didn’t mean to, I know. Were saved but because of you. Somehow you did the right thing. I can feel it.” I also felt goosebumps rising on my bare arms and legs. The same goosebumps that appeared whenever a ghost was near. Stupidly I ignored the sensation. Then I pulled back as I realized he wasn’t wearing anything. His face turned a bright red as did mine. It wasn’t that he looked bad without clothes on actually the opposite which was why…….I forced myself to not think about that and looked away. I heard him get off the floor and open one of the dresser drawers. When I heard the rustle of clothing and his feet padding back to where I sat I looked up. As I looked I saw I flicker of something in my peripheral vision. I looked over at it and screamed. There stood John Dirk the ghost leaning over and whispering to a hand that was twitching and dragging itself to the arm it was supposed to be attached to. One single word popped into my head. Burn.

“Sky burn it!!! Before the body reassembles itself!!” He ran over to the dresser and pulled out a lighter. He lit the lighter and John Dirk the ghost screamed a terrible shriek that made me cover my ears and rung at a high pitch. I covered my ears and cried out as Sky burnt each piece of flesh and John Dirk screamed even louder. When his corpse was all but a head and his ghostly form was engulfed in flames he looked toward me said, “Bitch,” and disappeared.

Sky looked toward me and dropped the lit lighter. He scooped me into his arms and ran out of the cabin as I watched it become completely engulfed in flames. He didn’t put me down until we reached the house. He set me down on the couch and got a phone out. I watched as he dialed and spoke into the phone and then I realized who he had called. He wouldn’t have called the human hospital or police because of the fact that they wouldn’t understand what happened. He had called his dad’s office. He had no clue his dad was dead. I pulled the phone away from his ear and hung it up as he stared at me.

“Lola what the hell do you think your doing?! That was my dad’s office! He could have….”

“Sky your dad is dead. Dirk killed him and your mother but only her body was found. He died before her. Dirk was a sorcerer he transfigured his body to match that of your dad’s. I’m sorry.”

“He can’t be dead! Lola your not making any sense! He was he all weekend he couldn’t be dead. No. No. No.” I watched as he slowly had caught on pulling him down to sit beside me. He continued to deny it that his dad couldn’t be dead as well as his mom but he knew it was true. Tears slid down my face as his eyes became blank and he just sat there in despair.

After sitting there for awhile he snapped back into reality speaking, “So what do we do now? Who do we call? Wait what about your side?” He tugged my hand away from it and yelped.

“I’m fine,” I looked down at my side and gasped,”ok maybe I’m not so fine.”

My hand that I held against my side was covered in blood but thankfully the wound had stopped bleeding. The white couch that Sky had set me on was completely bloody and stained. I started to hyperventilate. I was really dizzy and I didn’t feel so well. Was the room spinning? Why were there two Skys? I passed out before my head hit the pillow.
