"When a monster stopped behaving like a monster, did it stop being a monster? Did it become something else?"

"WHERE IS SHE?"
Indra stormed towards the Commander. "She's gone. Nowhere in this village—probably all the way to Skaikru's camp by now."
Lexa crossed her arms. The villagers stood near, gathering their horses and supplies for a ride with the Commander's army. Ley and Kahina leaned against a wall, Kasey and Amira against them. Ley held Amira in her arms. Kahina had her arms crossed over her chest.
Ley turned her head towards her. "She got away?"
The older girl nodded, locking eyes with the Commander. The woman was fierce—but Kahina towered over her, and they were barely the same age. K brought a hand up to rest against Kasey's hair, letting the younger girl push into her side.
The Commander approached her, eyes scanning over Ley momentarily. "Do you know about the whereabouts of Graunshila?"
Kahina nonchalantly looked away, raising an eyebrow. "I don't know where Naomi went."
"You're lying for her."
Kahina crossed her arms and tilted her head. "She's the Graunshila. She wants peace, I'm going to let her try. And she's my friend."
Indra stepped forward. "You're willing to lie to the Commander for your friend?"
"She is Graunshila. I trust her. She wants to protect everyone_—even if that means her people first. You would do the same thing." She eyed the Commander up and down.
"You think I'd betray an ally for my own people?"
Kahina scoffed. "Don't think you wouldn't. I know you would. You know it too. We'd all do anything to protect our own family."
"So why are you fighting for her?" Indra questioned. "If you believe she would betray us so quickly, why do you fight for her cause."
"Because she's my friend. And I trust her."

The trees parted, exposing long lights extending from the Ark. Reign snorted and shook her head.
The campsite was more magnificent than Naomi could have imagined. Half of the Ark stuck into the air, like some twisted tower. A large, electric fence had been set up around the perimeter of the station. Above the massive gates, a sign read: 'CAMP JAHA'. She snorted at that.
Naomi led the horse forward, passing through the tree-line. She could already see people moving inside the camp walls. Instantly, yells sounded out as she moved closer. She could see guns trained on her.
She raised her hands over her head, slowing her horse. "Don't shoot!"
Bellamy's eyes widened and he dropped his gun to his side. "It's Naomi!" he exclaimed. "Drop your weapons!" The guards slowly lowered their guns, turning for permission from their superiors.
David Miller nodded slowly. "Do as he says." He yelled to the girl on horseback: "Approach!"
Naomi urged Reign closer as the gates pulled open. They squealed and guards kept their weapons trained on her. A crowd was forming, grinning at the sight of her animal. Noe moved into the campsite, face fierce and expressionless.
