I walked into the kitchen after getting home, and taking a shower. All of the boys were sitting around the table with a weird look on their faces. They were hiding something.

"Okay, what's up?" I asked. They all turned to look at Matt. He knew exactly what I was talking about. He stood up and walked hastily to the door.

"Let's take a walk." he said, almost demanding. I followed him out the door and we both walked into the woods. Dark green moss covered the trunks of the trees. But, a piece of sunlight shown in through the middle of the woods. All of a sudden, Matt stopped walking. He turned around to look at me.

"How did it feel? How did it happen?" he asked, one question after another.

"How did what feel?" I asked confused.

                         "The transformation." he said.

"Good. I felt so strong and so powerful." I replied, almost jumping.

"How did it happen?" he asked, serious. "Did anything make you upset?"

"No. Except for Mark in class. He said one sentence and it made me mad. It wasn't even something to be mad at." I said.

"What did he say?" Matt asked.

"He said he loved hearing my voice. Then, I got upset and I left." I replied. Matt had a concerned look on his face.

"You are the chosen one." he said. A tear dimmed his eyes.

                          "I'm the what?" I asked.

                          "The chosen one." he replied.

"What is that?" I asked laughing.

"There's only one. It is the only white wolf of our kind. It is also the strongest of us all. To top it off, it is suppose to be the protector of our kind. The ultimate alpha. And... you're that one." Matt said. I stared at him with a blank look on my face. I was more confused than Raymond at school today.

"Matt, you have finally gone off the the deep end. The chosen one? The ultimate alpha? I honestly think your playing a prank on me." I replied as I walked away.

"Lany! Come back here!" Matt called out.

"No!" I refused. All of a sudden, Matt went from behind me to in front of me. I stopped dead in my tracks.

"Lany, you are in danger. The reason Mark made you mad is because he is a controller. He has already taken Jenna away from me. He's trying to control you by getting in your head, and making you feel like you need him. He also can make you go wolf, like he did today. You've got to listen to me!" Matt pleaded. I gave him a irritated look.

"Matt, I never shifted before then. Not ever. I am just getting my wolf. Why can't you except that I'm just a regular wolf like you and the guys?" I asked, stressing the question.

"Because your not a regular wolf. Did you notice how you held off your transformation? How you changed in Mark's presence? No other werewolf can hold off a transformation like that. Especially the first one. Neither would we change in front of anybody like him." Matt explained. "You changed because of his presence. Because of his voice." I looked at Matt angrily, and I started to shake. Matt seemed to notice.

"Matt, back away from me." I said in pain.

"You need to calm down. This is exactly what he wants to have happen. For you to hate me. It is exactly why Jenna left me for him." he said, almost crying. I felt heartbroken for him. I kept shaking, now more violently. Another chill ran down my spine. I started to scream in pain. But, through all my screaming, I could hear Mark's voice calling to me. It was saying Come. Come. Come. The voice was overwhelming and in my head.

"Leave me alone! Leave me alone!" I yelled.

"Lany, stop shaking. Don't let him do this to you." Matt cried, grabbing my arms. Matt's voice broke threw, tuning Mark's out. I slowly began to stop shaking. The voice gradually gave way to Matt's. Finally, I was settled.

"Thank God." he said. "Now do you believe me?" I looked at him. I felt a tear come to my eye.

"Yes." I cried, wrapping my arms around him. I rested my head on his shoulders. Matt rested his head upon mine.

"You're okay. Everything is going to be okay." he said, comforting me.

"Matt?" I asked with tears streaming down my face.

                             "Yes?" he asked.

"I love you." I said, softly.

"I love you too. Alpha." Matt replied, hugging me tighter. I looked up at him. If I was going to go through this, at least I had Matt by my side.
