Scorpio's POV:
Ugh, these stupid school assignments. I was meant to be doing this book review, but half way thorough reading the book my annoying little sister decided to spill chocolate milk all over it. I'm going to the library now to find a copy. As I walk down the the long rows of books I start to get a bit dizzy. There is everything here from falling in love with an astronaut to talking slugs that save earths cat population. how am I meant to find my book about a girl and a fire? I sigh out loud to myself until I see the flicker of a familiar cover in the corner of my eye.
"That's it," I say quickly making my way over to the book with a smile. I take it off the shelf and nearly scream when I see a face on the other side of the shelf. There on the other side of the shelf is a boy. I can't see much of him apart from his curly black hair that stops just around his aquamarine coloured eyes. He laughs when he sees the horror on my face. I hate that his laughing at me. I give him a meaningful glare and walk away to find a desk at the back of the library. I think will be easier to focus here for some reason. I take off my bag and sit down to start reading. Just as I open my book a tall shadow towers over me. I look up to see a familiar set of eyes looking down at me. He stares at me for a bit before seemingly snapping back to reality. He quickly sits down across from me and leans over to talk.
"Hey," he says and I look at him confused making it fair to obvious that I'm judging him.
"Hi," I say bluntly and he looks as though he is having an argument in his head about what to say.
"No, I mean, *sigh*. I just wanted to say sorry. About before. I didn't mean to make you jump I had just taken this book off the shelf at the same time as you and I thought it was funny because we both jumped a bit," He says as he places his book on the table. I'm still not sure what to think but he seems pretty awkward so I trust that he didn't mean to upset me.
"It's fine," I say and he looks up at me as a loving smile slowly forms upon his face. What a weird guy.
"Can I read here?" he asks as he gestures to his book.
"Sure," I say and he smiles again. His book looks thick and complicated yet he turns the pages quickly. I wonder what it's about. After sitting in procrastination for a while I decided to start up another conversation.
"You've been reading that book quickly," Um what to say, what to say,
"is it good?" I ask and immediately feel like crawling under the table to hide.
"It's okay. I'm only reading because I feel like I have to," he says looking up and placing a book mark in it.
"Why do you feel like you have to?" I ask and he gives me a soft smile. What's making him like this?
"The library is one of the few places I'm aloud to go," he says avoiding the question only to make less and less sense. I gaze at him with curiosity and he gives of another one of his sad smile that I have already seem to become familiar with. I hear a beep from my bag and look down to see a text from my mum.
"Ohhhh, that's a lot of capitals," I say as I start packing.
"Somewhere you're meant to be?" He asks as he watches me pack my things.
"Yeah, sorry. I have to go before my mum kills me," I say jokingly and he laughs a bit.
"See you around, maybe?" He says having it sound more like a question than a statement.
