I was approaching the now familiar rusted college gate when I heard a purr. Oh! I was already missing Belle. When I return home I will take her for vaccination.
Purr again.
Suspiciously I turned around to find that naughty fur ball of a cat hadn't listen a word I had said and followed me here! Much understanding?
I shook my head. What to do now? She walked up to me and roamed aimlessly around my feet.
'Go back.',I told her.
She looked up with those pleading eyes.
I picked her up and walked inside the college with a sigh. Nobody can deny those eyes.'I am carrying a tiny feline creature in my hand...so what?
Does that give you a reason to stare at me?', I basically shouted at a poor first year like me.
Actually he was the tenth or maybe a hundredth.
Who was counting?
The cat in question just looked up at me and smiled. She snuggled against my chest.
I was waiting for Mark or Akash or both of them to come and give me some idea so as to temporarily keep this cutie somewhere while I was roting away.A warm hand came on my back and I clamped my hand on that hand in relief. The hand withdrew almost immediately. I craned my neck.
'Thank God Akash...', I stopped abruptly in my mid sentence to see Daniel.
'Not Akash.',he said crudely.
'Oh.',I was for once speechless.
I turned back again nothing to say to this hurtful boy in front of me, ignoring him ,my face expressionless.
My cat looked up at me in question.
' Shall I give you a lift home and back where you could deposit this cat?', he said ignoring my ignoring look. I was originally planning on the same thing but was wondering how I could do it walking without getting late for my class. So I had decided that I would ask Akash or Mark if they had some better idea. They would have something ,or would they not?
I was debating on waiting for them or going with this boastful boy where the latter part of the discussion was winning on the point of logic.'Amy.', the cold voice persisted from behind me.
'No thanks.',my voice blurted.
I would rather wait.My hands felt a warm force.
Where the cool morning air had chilled my skin ,now there was a burning sensation ,only it wasn't hurtful. It was rather pleasant.
I cringed unwillingly.
The hands dragged me in to a black known automobile and I was shoved gently into a expensive leather seat next to the driver's. He closed the door on me rather impatiently.
Then he climbed on the seat next to me and drove with the perfect precision of a formula one racer.
Bloody perfect Brit.
Within less than a minute we were in the front of our house and I quickly got out and in the house.
I handed Belle to Granny and I told her, 'Just don't let her follow me again. Keep her safe.'
Granny waved me off and said, ' Don't you worry. Go hurry up or you will be late.'
I rushed back into the car. The car started into motion and we were already half way up to college.'What did you name her?', he asked in a cold undertone.
' Why bother?',I murmured.
'Why not answer?', he chuckled.
'Belle'
'Twilight fanatic?'
'How does that concern you?'
'In no way.',he agreed.
We reached college. He leaned over me to open the door. My heart fluttered as his arms brushed mine ever so slightly.
I got down without another word.
He did deserve a thanks but he also deserved a good kick in his face. I didn't bother with either. I just walked out and towards my first class just when the bell rang.
Classes dragged ,as today I was sharing it none of the beloved people I knew(excluding Daniel).
He wasn't beloved and we didn't share any classes today together atleast until lunch time. After lunch ,I noticed with irritation I had one class with him.
When it was lunch I walked into cafeteria to notice a mob had gathered around a table. I peeked in to see Daniel sitting with atleast fifteen girls around him. I moved away from the table as if the air around it was infectious and settled in a far removed table.
Maybe it was infectious after all because suddenly I felt nauseated. I just took some coke.
I sat down sipping my coke. It's cold contents made
me sigh in bliss, problems forgotten for a while. I plugged in my headphones.
Don't you need somebody...
Baby I wanna I wanna know...
The voice of the singer crooned.
My headphones flew away cutting my access to music. I looked up to see the smiling faces of Mark and Akash.
'Hey.'
'Hello.'
They muttered together.
Akash mock punched my shoulder mouthing'buddy'
'Hey.', I said to both.
'What are you doing this evening?',Akash asked me.
'Nothing.',I replied.
'Then we are going for a movie.', Mark spoke.
'Okay.',I said.
'See you later Am.',Akash said putting a hand on my cheek.
I smiled at warm feeling creeping over me.
'Bye.', I told both of them.
