33. Love in the air.

I sat stumped wondering what he was trying to insinuate when he just cracked up laughing.
The eye contact broken, I looked away.
'Tell me Am. Did that roller coaster thing work?', he asked after a second.
I slowly turned around without meeting his eye.
'Pretty much. Yeah.'

'So do you love Mark?',he asked abruptly ,all the nuances gone.

'What are you saying?',I felt shocked at his words and his depth of observation.

'Just answer me.', he said seriously.

' I don't know how this should bother you. Daniel I'm really getting exasperated at how your mood changes like the changing winds.'

'Am that's not my answer.',he persisted.

'No. I don't love him. I mean romantically at least . ',I confessed.

'That's great.',he said a little over enthusiastically,
'I mean he's not right for you.',he corrected.

'Oh yeah? Then who is?',I challenged.

He leaned closer , his face inches away from mine. I remembered the time in his car . I also remembered what followed.
I instinctively leaned away.

'No more mysteries Amanda Roberts. No more games. I am in love with you. I'm in love with you. ', He said in that voice of his, facing me full his eyes locked with mine.
It was like time stood still. Nothing mattered. I had eyes only for Daniel. His chest just two inches from me, I could very much smell his perfume.
I could not decide whether I was happy or shocked or surprised.
Happy ,definitely happy from within but outside I sat shell shocked.
'Ah. Miss I think you must make sure the doors are locked securely.',he called out to the nearest flight attendant.
"Yes Sir. They are locked.',she replied.
'The windows?'

'Sir is something wrong ?',she asked confused.

Daniel scratched his head and said,'I don't know but ,this girl here may just make run for the door. I'm not taking chances. You know.'

'Good joke sir.', the bemused attendant walker away smiling.
I blinked twice at Daniel at which he coughed embarrassed, and said, 'Am come on spit it out. Say it loud. How much you adore me?'
'Daniel ?',I called out his attention.

He positively looked worried.
'Yes Am. I'm listening.'
He took a deep breath and braced himself to hear whatever I had to say.
' I have a question.',I said seriously.
There were a few things that needed to be sorted.
'A million I would answer. I'll be your official google assistant if that's what you want.', he said only half joking.
'Where does Carolina fit into this?',finally the question was out.
I had to make sure Carolina was out of his picture before I 'smiled'.
'Okay I know you're gonna bash me after this. But you deserve to know.'
He took a deep breath and said,'
Carolina was my ex. Bringing her in the picture was the dumbest idea I have ever had. She means nothing.'
'Daniel you were dating her just two days before and now suddenly she's nothing. Whereas you believe yourself to be in love with me. I just cannot accept that.'

'Wait Am that's just half. You got to listen to me first fully. Carolina and I broke up almost a year and a half ago. I...just made it up to make you jealous and to speed up your reaction. She was meant to a be a catalyst, you could say but that was wrong of me.'
I was shocked.
'Daniel how could you do this to me? '
I was close to tears.
How could he do this to me?
All the while I had been thinking that he and Carolina were together. It hurt me so much.
But the email. I had read her email.
'Daniel I don't know if you're saying the truth cause I had read your mails. Call me pathetic but that doesn't changes the truth. '

He was smiling in a sad way that broke my heart.
'Amanda if I say that it's a long story and you have to trust me, will you? Can you believe that I love you the most and there's no one for me but you. I offer you my heart and my soul. Take it Am take it. It's all yours. I cannot envision you with anybody else. I will die of the pain.'
I winced when he said that.
I reached out to touch him on his arms.
He took my fingers and held me closer.
'The first time I saw you was when you had come to visit your Granny before shifting here semi permanently.
You were outside your house kissing her goodbye. I could had felt your love being radiated five miles away. I remember reminiscing that you were the kind of pure soul one needed. I had come to check on the property that had been passed to mother. I couldn't resist calling out to you but you were almost sat in your car and off. All I knew that maybe I would never see you again.
I sourced information about you and realised you were the lady's granddaughter. That was the only thing I needed to know. I immediately summoned my architect and started the work on the inherited house.
I got your address and I wanted to be with you ,wanted you to get to know me. I was past my impatience and the fear of coming across as a creep but then I heard your Granny speaking to her lady friend that her only granddaughter was coming to live with her. My joy was beyond the seven skies. We shifted ,Mom and I , that week . Mom was curious but never questioned me.'
He looked into my eyes and I sat there listening to him, the things he said was warming my heart and I felt his arms around me warming me further.
'Amanda I have been in love with you ever since.',he confessed.

'Why didn't you tell me before?',I couldn't resist asking.

'Do you remember the day we met ?'
'Yes.'
Very vividly too. I had fallen in love with his eyes.
'I was just going around to jog and the girl I have been waiting impatiently to meet ,very conveniently ,fell into my arms.'
,he laughed.
I couldn't help smiling too.
'I was embarrassed.'
'You don't need to be embarrassed darling. I was so happy that day.'
'And I thought , you might be wondering how clumsy I was.'

'Hardly. I thanked my stars that day. Next day I had been following you. Yes I have no shame in telling you I followed you and you were so pale I thought you might faint. I realised that day that I was wholly into you.
The reality wasn't kind though because as I got to know you more I understood you were hesitant to my touch. You were not ready for my love. I couldn't risk you saying no but I couldn't also wait anymore. I had waited so long for you.
Remember how I kissed you and you were so angry with me. I knew I had to be cautious or I might end up without you.
So I brought Carolina into the play.',he said the name with enough disgust.
'She was just an excuse. I wanted you to accept your feelings for me which I had learned you did
garnar for me.'
'Daniel I'm so sorry I put you through this but I thought you hated me for...well being me. I'm so clingy.'

'You're perfect.',He told me in perfect adoration.

And we talked all night as a string of confessions followed. He was there when I found Belle. He was the one ,when I thought I had heard some one. That's how he knew next day that I had a cat and asked me for her name!
The night was dark , a perfect starlit sky, but I had eyes only for my moon.
I stayed in his arms all night, warmed by his presence, my mind finally at peace.
'Did you really check my emails though?',Daniel asked grinning widely.
'Daniel just go away.'
I shifted from his lap where he had tucked me comfortably.
'Okay sorry.'
He patted his lap inviting me.
I didn't needed a second thought.
'You do love me a little ?',Daniel asked smirking as I looked into his electric blue eyes and got lost for a second.
' Well no. I actually hate you. I just sit on random guy's lap because I love perverting. Don't you know?'
He just laughed.
'Okay tell me about your previous boyfriends so that I could justify my jealousy towards the other boys who stare at you and punch them in their faces.'

'Zero.'I answered honestly.

'Really? Whoosh thank God. That reduces the potential murder count to one.'
'Daniel shut up. Who are you talking about?'
'Mark.',Daniel said his name with a distaste.
'Daniel you cannot do such thing. Besides he doesn't foster any amorous feelings towards me as such.'
'Let's drop it. So do I now get to edit my name as the boyfriend in your contact list.'
'Never. We are going to have decent names in each other's contact lists. No tacky contact names :rule 1 of dating Amanda Roberts.'
'So we're dating then ,aren't we?',he said jiggling his eyebrows at me.
I puffed silently.

'Okay I have a rule too.',he said .
'Like what?'
'No body gets to call you Am. That will be exclusively for my use only.'
I laughed.
'Whatever.'
'You cannot 'whatever'me that's a strict rule. Or else I might just end up with silliest lovey dovey name for you.'
He did in fact saved his name as my love in my contact while I got saved as Babe.
I cringed a little but I guess I had to bear with this ludicrous yet amusing things that were a little bit side effect of falling in love.
Yet to fall in love with this perfecto , it was all good.
I wondered what would Sammy say and mentally visualized public man slaughter and gulped.
What would Akash Mom Dad , Granny say? What would Mark say?
Would he be hurt?
Daniel pulled me in a bear hug,'Now that your so close , I'm never letting you off a five meter radius.',he said ,his voice melting honey in my ears.
My worries were outside the window and we were ten thousands feet high in air ,in love.
