I slumped down on a footwalk and let the tears flow unobstructed. I didn't even try to stop my tears.
I felt certain footsteps in my direction. I quickly cleared my eyes. Eyes felt blurry and I could feel them burning due to excessive rubbing. I finally gathered some strength and got up.
A tall figure loomed ahead of me. I strained my eyes to see it was Mark.
I sighed in relief. It would had been too much pressure on my poor little heart to see Daniel right now. I could only afford to face him later.'Amy.', Mark called out to me, worry and concern in his voice.
'Here.', I answered clearing my throat of the huskiness and wiping off my tears.
'Are you OK? Why did run away like that? And why were you crying?'
Did he see me...er..kissing?
I didn't reply.
' And did you really...uh...kiss Daniel...',he asked me choosing his words with a caution.Ugh. I think everyone saw that. Now there would be innumerable talks about us.
Great.
Mark put an arm around me.
'Don't worry and stop frowning. You don't need to answer me or anyone else.',he said a little bit sadly. He must be thinking that I was definitely hiding an affair with Daniel from him. What did he knew it was more of an affaire d'honneur.
He walked me to home after I told him I couldn't go back to college.
At home, waving me a adieu he watched me close the door to my home and go in . There was a forlorn look on his face that didn't suit him.
'Amy.', I heard Granny call out to me.
'Yes.',I quickly sobered my face from any trace of moisture.
'You are home early.',she remarked.
'Yes ,I was having a mild headache.'
'Amy I wanted to remind you about my trip to Pune this week. You are sure you'll be fine.'
She wanted to visit her sister there and I was happy she was atleast thinking of going out and enjoying.
That trip would do her a lot good. Here she was forced to stay behind these four walls for my sake. I couldn't be a burden to her as much as I would hate it to live alone for the entire week.
'Absolutely.', I smiled for her benefit.
'I'll be gone for an entire week.'
'Yes Granny. I'm not a baby anymore.',I complained lightly though I loved her pampering.
'Alister will come to pick me up at six in the evening today.'
'Super.' I hugged her a little more tightly
' I'll miss you.'
'So would I.', she told me.I let Daniel out of my mind as I helped Granny pack up essentials.
When Alister, her sister's grandson was at the door to pick her up, I loaded her luggage with Alister's help.
'You are not coming along?',Alister asked me raising his brows,'you know we don't bite.'
'Alister.',I laughed,'Take care of my Granny.'
'We will. Don't you worry.'
'You better.' I hugged a goodbye to Alister.
I heard a cough from the vicinity and stiffened at the knowledge of the source of the cough.
I backed away from Alister slowly,my smile intact.
I didn't let Daniel's presence spoil my already battered mood.
'Cheerio.',I winked at Granny and she kissed my cheeks one last time.
The car glided out of my view and my attention was crying out loud to be anywhere than where it was actually being drawn. At a snowy white ,porcelain skinned, blue eyed ,gorgeous, masculine, and a voice like honey and all the best things in the world owning arrogant and cruel and a very distinguished individual in my life.Daniel stayed affixed to his place, unlike I had imagined. I had thought he was going somewhere but that possibility wasn't coming true anytime soon as he stood there watching me intensely.
He even didn't speak. Simply stood there locking me in a trance, making my movement impossible. I may be resembled a doe caught in a headlights then or may be a monkey would be more apt, the way my eyes were widened like a saucepan and given my lack of perfecto grace. Then slowly, steadily he came closer, his face unreadable.
The events from today's morning etched into my memory burning bright blush into my cheeks.
At his approach my eyes flew close. There was a faint trace of anger in his eyes before I let my eyelids shut. I couldn't face his wrath and survive in one piece. I was ashamed.
He kept his hands lightly over my waist making me turn towards him.
'Amy.',yes certainly he was angry.
'You are going to stay alone. For a week.',he lashed out, his tone making me whimper.
'Listen to me.',he whispered his breath fanning my face, his lips deliciously close to me.
My heart was drumming at the highest frequency. My body was numbing slowly under Daniel's touch ,my eyes shutting further in the burning pleasure.
'Hey. Hey. Don't you pass out on me.',he held my drooping chin in his palms and I was brought back to consciousness by his patting hands.
I opened my eyes and realised I was sitting on my front steps with my head in Daniel's lap.
I immediately scooted away from him.
