Chapter 4

"how is it not Eunbi chosen?! Is Mrs park blind? Is that other singer really that good?"

"chill jeon, why so worked up. It's not like it will affect us. Let's focus on perfecting our performance for the -" yugyeom stopped after noticing the frown on my face.

"Maybe it's because Mina's more popular? and they would attract more people to buy tickets? You know how publicity works right?" he suggested.

The world is so unfair, Eunbi was clearly more talented. I thought before I stop myself. 'why am I so concerned about her?' I ponder for awhile before shaking that thought off, I must be just trying to help her after seeing how sad she was when her group wasn't announced :(

I was still complaining to Yugyeom when my phone started ringing. It was Mrs park

"Jungkook, has your group decided whether to perform?"she asked and I suddenly got an idea as a smirk slips on my face

-later in the day-

"Didn't you wanna stay low key in school?"

"You was just acting humble aye? I knew it! AHAHAHAH"

"Of course we would perform, but why the sudden decision?"

I was bombarded with these questions once I told my hyungs that we would be performing in school. They must have sense something, but I denied everything and claim that it was just because it's gonna be my only year in school anyway so why not just do it, the concert is in the last semester too. They reluctantly bought my lie but I wasn't gonna say anything more.

-the next day-

"Good news class, our class has the honour of having 3 groups to perform at the concert!" Mrs park said.

"Eunbi, your group will be the third group selected, do our class proud girls!" she continued as she passed the timetable of the rehearsals to the 3 groups participating.

"It was because there were many exceptional performance from our class, hence principal-nim decided to give 3 slots to us..." she added on but I was already mesmerised by Eunbi, who was wearing the prettiest smile in the whole world while she celebrated with her group. Just by looking at that angelic face, I feel like my sacrifice was all worthwhile.

-flashback-

"Mrs Park, I have a suggestion..." I told her through the phone about my idea that my group would perform only if they give Eunbi's group a chance. She immediately accepted the offer.

I was even willing to give up my plans about keeping my trainee news a secret just to give Eunbi a chance. What's more important than giving her what might be her last shot at showcasing her talents right? I tried convincing myself that that was the reason why I'm helping her.. Oh boy was I wrong....
