Amara smiled at her reflection in the mirror. She liked what she saw.
The new school uniform was very nice; it was simple and yet stylish. The new uniform consisted of a black blazer with the school's logo on the breast pocket; a white button down shirt with a black striped tie and a black skirt that settled a few inches above her knees. The uniform fit perfectly and she loved it.
She pulled her braids in a ponytail and it settled a little ways past her neck. She could not have them distracting her during class.
"All good," she whispered to herself still taking in her appearance in the mirror. She had triple checked on everything that morning cause she didn't want to fall foul to any school rules on her first day. That wouldn't be a very pleasant way to start.
"Do we have to wear a blazer? It's hot." Raj complained coming out of the closet while pulling on his tie. Amara's reflection in the mirror smiled at him and when she turned around, Raj already had his top button off and his tie was pulled down a little. She honestly didn't get what he was complaining about. There was air conditioning in the house and it wasn't so hot.
"Don't do that," she scowled moving towards him. She adjusted his tie and re did his top button which in turn made him scowl down at her as she worked on his tie. "There! All done!" She announced patting his shoulders and smiling up at him when he looked like he was supposed to again. She was met with a scowl on the face of the pretty Indian boy.
"Let's go, we don't want to be late." Amara said slinging her bag over her shoulders moving towards the door. "Yeah," Raj groaned copying her actions and following behind her.
When they got to the dining room, unlike the previous night, there was no chatter, it was absolutely quiet. But, there was still a lot of food set out on the table. Something told her that the boys not being present was not unintentional.
"The boys already left. Come have breakfast." Nancy said to them coming out the door that connected the kitchen and the dining room.
"Morning," Raj and Amara greeted as they moved to take their seats at the table. Amara was about to take the same seat that she did the previous night at dinner but then she remembered that it was his seat and even though he wasn't present, she steered clear of it and took the vacant seat next to Raj.
She felt a tad bit disappointed that she wasn't able to see him at breakfast. She had really been looking forward to breakfast with him. Well not exactly with him because they wouldn't be alone but at least he would be there.

"I'll see you at lunch," Raj said to Amara before walking away in the opposite direction to his first class and before she knew it, he was lost in the crowd of students.
Looking away from his direction, she caught a pair of eyes on her and when she stared back at the petite blond, she looked away and turned a faint red. That had been happening all morning. People stared at her and Raj but none of them made any move to talk to either of them. It was weird.
Amara put the image of the red haired away and looked down at the map in her hand and when she was sure she was going in the right direction to her physics class, she put it away. Physics had always been her favourite subject and she could not wait to have this class.
