Ram and Kurt had both agreed that today would be the day that they would come out. They had been hiding the way they both felt for too long and it was starting to feel tedious. The two jocks figured they would start off by telling Veronica and Martha to ease into things before delving into more complex coming outs, such as to their families.
That morning, Ram picked Kurt up from his house as usual and they drove to school together. At first the two smiled as they greeted each other, but for the most part the ride to school was silent. It was pretty clear that both boys were nervous, and understandably so, it was the last thing they had ever thought they would be doing, yet here they were. Kurt found him self subconsciously staring out the window until he noticed the car come to a stop. They were at school.
"Are you ready?" Ram looked at Kurt and asked staring at his hands as he fidgeted.
"As ready as I'm going to be" Kurt responded with a nervous chuckle.
"Well why wait?" Ram said hopping out of his Jeep and swinging his bookbag over his shoulder. "Let's do this."

Together Ram and Kurt navigated the hallways of their school. It wasn't long before they spotted Veronica and Martha standing by their lockers as usual. Kurt took in a deep breath and greeted the girls.
"Hey r-RRonica, hey Martha" He said stuttering a little bit. The girls glanced up and smiled at him, easing his nerves slightly.
"Hey Kurt. What's hanging?" Martha said cheerfully.
"Ram and I have something to tell you guys."
"What's your damage? I don't think I've ever seen the Kurt Kelly acting nervous" Veronica asked sounding amused yet concerned.
"Um well.." Ram and Kurt said almost in unison and swallowing loudly.
"Spit it out" said a voice from behind the jocks, Kurt recognized it immediately, Heather Duke.
"Yeah, what are you talking about??" McNamara asked curiously peering between the two boys. Ram laughed and rubbed the back of his head while Kurt's eyes widened.
"We're gay." Kurt blurted out louder than he intended. Heads turned all the way down the hallway and everything seemed to stop for a split second. Heather Chandler looked at Ram and then Kurt before signing "no duh" Then everything unfroze.
"You thought that was something to make a big deal out of?" Heather Duke asked cackling. "Everyone knows that"
"Yeah.. but nonetheless I'm proud of you two" Martha added.
"Regardless of anything, as long as both of you are happy, we are happy" Heather McNamara said pulling everyone into a group hug.
"All right, all right. This was nice but some of us have to get to class now" Heather Duke groaned pulling away from the group. "Because, you know some of us actually use our brains." She said rolling her eyes and walking off, followed by Heather Chandler and Heather McNamara.
"Not me" Veronica retorted. "I use my grand IQ to decide what lip gloss to wear in the morning and how to hit three keggers before curfew." The four of them still left standing there broke into laughter before breaking off to go to class. Ram and Kurt walking side by side before locking eyes. It was almost as if at that moment they both knew that maybe today wouldn't be so bad after all.
