Pushing through

The pain soared through me like lava. I wanted to scream , to dip myself in the arctic waters. I wanted to beg and plead for help. My father was terrifying. He almost looked rabid. Slowly the pain was intensifying and I'm not too sure I can take it anymore. My body is already fragile and now this. To make it worse rider seen me in this state. God is he going to run for the hills. I'm not sure how long I've been unresponsive , honestly I tried to count the beeps from the monitor I'm on but it only started to piss me off.
" vitals are almost normal , temperature is steadily rising , we need to get her in an ice back immediately" I heard a nurse say. Yes , an ice bath is just what I need. Please hurry lady!
" is she going to be okay?" The deep rumble came out from the familiar presence and I'm embarrassed to say the heart monitor sped up slightly. I'm just glad I don't have to be awake and deal with that.
" speak again" the nurse said curiously. Please don't ... please don't ...
" rose , if you can hear me please try to wake up beautiful"
My heart began to thump a little harder at his little pet name. Stupid heart , stupid monitor. I could feel a cold hand touch me but maybe it's because I was so damn hot. The tingles shot through me acting as a barrier from the burning in my veins. It felt pleasant again. If only I could open my eyes , move my hands , something!

RIDER-
The sensation I feel when I touch her is unlike anything in the world. When she wakes up , I'm going to tell her everything and then never let her out of my sight. My poor little red has been through so much and I am going to make sure for the rest of her life she is happy. I can only hope she will accept me as her mate. If her body can handle the shift that is. She is so malnourished , so fragile. I know it must be hell for her right now and I would do anything to keep the pain away. She doesn't know I'm the wolf that watches her so protectively at night. She doesn't know how much I already deeply love her. But I know she feels the bond and I'm going to use that to my advantage. I will win my girls love.

One hour... two hours... three hours ...
she has been in the ice bath. Her body temperature is still rising and it seems as if she is going to shift a little sooner than we thought. She has begun the final process as we quickly bring her to the woods. This can get a little chaotic sometimes so I'm preparing myself for the worst. But I'll be there the whole way through.

ROSE-
Holy fucking balls. I'm in hell right now. I'm sorry god. I'm sorry mom. I'm sorry kid whose lollipop I stole in first grade and lied about it. I feel my body being lifted and as I breathe I can smell the pine in the air. I'm outside. Are they burying me? Am I dying? Finally I have found my voice as I cannot take the agony any longer and I scream the loudest shrilled scream I have ever done in my life.

My .. my bones are breaking. I'm falling apart. I cannot take it please kill me. Please someone end this. I can feel each individual joint , each bone , the cartilage. Sweat is dripping off my body as I am lifted into the air suddenly I feel nothing. No pain. No heat. The world smells more crisp , the sounds are more amplified. I open my eyes to see the large black wolf over me and I go to reach out my hand only to realize I don't have one. I look down and begin to freak out. I must have looked insane flopping around as a giant wolf thing?

Calm down baby it's okay I hear in my head and I look at the wolf. He nuzzles me and everything seems to feel okay in the world again. My breathing is ragged and I'm still freaking out but I wanted this didn't I? A chance to break free? To get away?
What is happening what am I wha- he cut me off by laying his large paw on top of me making me lay down. I'm guessing I'm was pretty small compared to him as well.
Everything is okay love , you shifted early because of your father , I'll explain once I teach you to shift back okay? Now think about your body in detail. Think about your curves , your hair , your eyes.

I did and suddenly I was a naked pile of human on the forest floor. What the hell. What the hell. What the hell. Is this happening ? I couldn't help but to laugh a little.
" this is fucking crazy " I say in a fit of laughter.
" hey there beautiful" that familiar voice sent tingles down my spine as I tried to cover up.
" take this " he says giving me his shirt and I pull it over my healed body. I stare at him in awe , his beauty is so much greater naked and in plain sight.
" I know this is all confusing love but let me explain okay" he said sitting next to me slowly. I nod and pull my knees to my chest confused but not exactly scared.
" as you now know , I'm the wolf you've been coming to see in the woods" he says slowly. I nod staring staring at him waiting for his to continue.
" well I am what's called a werewolf , a shapeshifter if you will. Your father was one too. Which means you have the genes. Your body wasn't ready to shift yet rose , you could've died. I was so worried" he says getting off topic slightly but I couldn't help but to faintly smile.
" so ... I'm a ?" I begin to ask quietly letting this all sink in.
" yes " he says and scoots a little closer. " now the things about us shape shifters is that the moon goddess has designed one person for each other to be bound and soulmates for the rest of their lives. The mating bond however makes them almost inseparable. You cannot break the ties of a marking done you can only do so before" I nod processing the information but I couldn't help but to want him to be my mate.
" why are you grinning at me?" I say confused as hell.
" oh nothing " he says and I roll my eyes.
" anyways " he clears his throat " so basically in our packs there's someone called the alpha who is the leader. He has many responsibilities and makes sure the operations are running smoothly while also protecting the women and children. The next in ranking is the beta which is kind of like the alphas side kick if you will. Then third in command and so on"
Honestly I couldn't be more happy in this moment. I'm free , no one to hold me back. I'm a magical being and I've never felt more alive.
" my little red are you ready to come meet the pack?" He asks as if I'm to fragile to move but I haven't felt this great in such a long time. I jump up , there's a mischievous look in my eyes and I suddenly shift and begin to run. He panicks for only a split second and shifts as well , the big familiar wolf whom I felt so close to started to run after me and it only pushed me harder.
     I howl into the air raising my head high and let out a barky laugh. We don't talk , we don't need to. I slow my running and he finally catches up. He comes to my side panting heavily and I can't help but to grin. Well as much as you can when you are a FREAKING WOLf! I concentrate on shifting back and there I am ten fingers , ten toes.
     He's sitting beside me still panting slightly and looks at me with this weird expression.
" what?" I say checking myself to make sure I don't have dirt on my face or something.
" I've -" he pauses to catch his breath and I laugh " I've never seen someone so fast and you only just shifted" I shrug. I'm not impressed , yet.
" let's get you to the pack house , dinner is served and we are very late" he chuckles " who would've known little red was a hellion?" He mumbles to himself. He just doesn't know what the moon goddess has done to him. I smirk knowing how much of an actual brat I am but of course I'll take it easy ... for a while.
        
          The house? It was cute , tucked away in the woods and very very large. It looked like a home not just a house. I haven't have an actual home in many years. Maybe they will like me ? I hope. I really really hope because all of my life since what happened to mother .. it's been hell. Maybe I can finally let go and live free. Rider snakes his arm around my waist as we go up the stairs and I feel little shocks everywhere. I smirk and slip his hand off me.
" no touchy touchy " I say wiggling my eyebrows at him. He laughs and rolls his eyes.
" sooner or later you'll be begging me to touch you" he says and flexes his muscles. Damn.. I really should have thought that through. Mental face palm and eye roll emoji! Ugh! Come back my hunka hunka burnin love! I giggle at myself and he looks at me questionably. I shrug and continue to walk alongside him. As we come into the kitchen there's a table bigger than I've ever seen before. It had to seat atleast over fifty people. They all turned and looked suddenly shooting us toothy grins.
" everyone this is -" he has no chance to introduce me as many people interrupt him.
" Luna ! Oh how beautiful is she !" One exclaims.
" my Luna!" One man gasps. And it continued for a moment or so. Luna? My name is rose people!!! Although Luna does sound pretty. Eh , I'll take it.
" hey!" Rider yells loudly to get everyone's attention and immediately they quiet.
" as I was saying" he shoots a playful glare at everyone. " This is Rosalie and she is to be your Luna  , you treat her with utmost respect is that clear?" At this moment im confused as hell so I look up at him and he looks like he remembered something.
" yes sir alpha , always sir! , I shall serve my Luna with my life" people wouldn't stop talking or hell even staring at me for that matter. It was very uncomfortable as I ate , but some tried to make small talk. I get up scraping the excess scraps into the bin and begin to wash my plate. Some comes running in the kitchen and takes the plate from me.
" our Luna will do no such thing as wash dishes" a woman says to me gently and pats my head.
" ma'am I have no problem with washing my own dishes" I insist. Rider comes to me pulling me away and look apologetic at me.
" it um" he pauses rubbing the back of his neck. " it seems I have forgotten some things" he says nervously.
" oh really? Yeah I guess you did kinda miss the fact that everyone here is treating me like some freaking higher being and won't even let me breathe too deeply for gods sake" I yell at him frustrated.
" I'm sorry love , I am , but you are the Luna of this pack and although you aren't ready for that yet they are still going to treat you as you should be treated. They would die for you and they love you with every breath in their body" he says and I can't help but to feel bad for yelling.
" what the hell is this " Luna" you are speaking of" I ask confused. Like always.
He sits me down and begins to explain what a Luna is and it suddenly hits me.
" am I ?" I begin to ask but stop because I feel silly. Silly and giddy and nervous.
" you are my mate rose" he says in a whisper looking at me as if I could crush his soul in an instant. It's a lot to take in. I mean of course I'm ecstatic, who wouldn't be ?  But am I cut out for this? Can I really be the leader of a pack with a culture I know nothing of ?
" please say something?" He says trying to not push to much. I didn't realize but I jumped up doing my happiest ever happy dance.
" YES. Yes yes yes!!!!" I wiggly my booty in a circle and jump up and down. He is in a fit of laughter and I hug his neck so tightly. Of course I can do this. If the moon goddess thought it was right then it must be.
" does that mean you accept me as your mate?" He says hopefully.
" oh about that I don't think" I say trailing off and his eyes droop a little. " oh of course I do you big dope come here" I say jumping on him as sparks erupt between us. This electric feeling running through my veins has a new feel to it. It's more intense and I already know what has to happen to complete it.
" we don't have to rush anything rose , we don't have to complete the bond just yet okay? In time when you are ready and you are sure then we can" I can't help but smile and nuzzle his neck. I love this man already and I barely even know him.
