"HOW ARE WE supposed to get out?"
Jemma Simmons, much alive, but not so well, was staring blankly at Daisy Johnson in a state of shock and disbelief — the two had traveled into the cruel creation called the Framework in order to help their allies and friends out of the alternate reality, only to find out that their exit was blocked. They were trapped, without weapons or powers, without a proper plan to keep them safe. And frankly, with each passing second, they were both growing more and more terrified of the twisted world they had rushed into, now forced to stay.
"We need to convince Coulson. Get him on our side", Daisy then continued, her fingers pushing through her dark hair as she paced back and forth the small house they had taken residence in, and nodding in agreement, Jemma confirmed that it was a good idea. Although this world's Phil Coulson was drastically different from the one they were used to — just like everyone else, too — they needed their boss and his alliance. And when the topic of allies came up, Jemma's eyes lit up and she faced Daisy with a smile, meaning that it had to be good — a speck of light amidst the darkness they were stumbling into.
"I know who can help us", Simmons clapped her hands together. "It's an old friend. I haven't seen her since we were all in the academy, but I used the HYDRA agents' computer to find out where she lives. She's a brilliant scientist here — much like I assume she is back in our world, too", she rambled, and nodding her head at the surprisingly convincing words, Daisy did agree that they needed all the help they could get. And they needed to convince their friends to come along to the other world with them, which she guessed was going to be the hardest part.
"Great. Do you think she's being held captive somewhere too?", Daisy wondered, and shaking her head, Simmons sighed.
"I really don't know", she admitted, before flashing a new smile. "I do know, however, that she is the sweetest sweetheart ever, and she will be more than happy to help us", Simmons explained, and already sold, Daisy then proceeded to question who was this mystery sweetheart, and where they could find her. And beaming with joy, Jemma was more than happy to elaborate.
"Her name is Jenna Rivers."
—————
IT WAS LIKE any other day for Jenna, who expected nothing above normal to happen — she made her way to her lab early in the morning, and with her white coat thrown over her small frame and her small speaker playing Let Me Blow Ya Mind, she was currently typing away on her computer, one tab doing secret research on HYDRA, and another studying a new virus spreading through the internet. Luckily, she had all the best firewalls and virus detection programs to protect her computers — all three of them — so she didn't have to worry about being a victim, merely an online superhero to keep the others safe.
Jane had dropped by to bring some lunch for her sister, like she did on most days, and therefore, a steaming package of chicken pasta was waiting for Jenna to dig in. However, before she could grab the bag and stuff her face with the delicious food that Jane was rather known for, the phone on her desk buzzed and the blonde was forced to roll her chair over to it so she could press the red button. "Yes, what is it?", she sighed, after turning off the music — although she liked her job and how busy it kept her, she rarely enjoyed being interrupted or bothered when it came to food. Nonetheless, she put on a smile and her nicest voice.
