JENNA HAD NO clue what she was signing up for, but she did know with utmost certainty that she couldn't let Fitz slip from her fingertips, and with that in mind, she was rushing after the HYDRA commander as he left the conference room. They had merely exchanged a few sentences, when the man had been alerted — the target, also known as Jemma Simmons herself, had been spotted and now, Fitz, along with a merciless team of cold-blooded agents was planning on confronting the woman. And somehow, Jenna let the adrenaline rush kick in and she ended up acting before thinking.

"Let me come with you", she blurted out, and surprised by the unexpected request, Fitz turned around with his hands resting on his hips, eyebrow lifted and his cold eyes calculating and pondering if the woman was crossing the line between eager and disrespectful. Luckily, before he could lean towards the latter, she had spoken up yet again. "I'm very interested in the work you're doing here, and I think I could be quite useful out in the field. I am aware it's not something you usually do, but—", Jenna ranted, but she wasn't allowed the opportunity to finish, when Fitz had already nodded and placed something against Jenna's palm — heavy and cold as the metal touched her skin.

"Don't make me regret saying yes", he simply warned, and with that, he started to walk away, leaving behind Jenna with a loaded gun in her hand.

And she was convinced that if she were to disappoint Fitz, that would be the last thing she'd ever do.

JENNA WAS SCARED — it wasn't something she admitted with a light heart, but as she sat in the silent, trembling Quinjet between two armed HYDRA agents, she couldn't stop herself from acknowledging the piling fear in her racing heart. She had went behind enemy lines and was now risking her life, merely for the man that no longer looked at her with adoration and sympathy, no longer radiated warmth and safety. Instead, there was a blank, cold stare brewing within the stormy blue of his eyes and it was like there stood an invisible wall between him and everyone else. He was closed off, damaged, an entirely different person, and it was causing Jenna to feel sad, like she had lost Fitz, and the man she couldn't stop staring at, was simply a homicidal clone, an evil doppelgänger, of the boy she once knew.

She also didn't know where Evan was, and that was worrying her to a point where she couldn't stop her hands from shaking despite trying to hide it from the people around her. She hoped that he had been kicked off of the premises and he was now safely at home, or somewhere with Daisy, but as they were dealing with HYDRA, she couldn't know for sure and that was stirring dark thoughts within her wildly running imagination. Asking, though, felt like a mistake — there was an impenetrable atmosphere in the plane, and the silence was swallowing them whole. Speaking up seemed like an impossible obstacle, so instead of letting her curiosity get the best of her, Jenna was falling into silence.

Just as Jenna was about to consider the possible outcomes of their mission, and the chances of Simmons' survival, the woman sitting opposite her spoke up. "Why exactly are you here?", she questioned, her voice giving away that she considered herself superior compared to the rest around her, and that was obvious in her appearance as well. She was wrapped in green, from the streaks in her hair to the cloak hiding her body, and something about it was so intimidating, Jenna gulped loudly and thought about her answer for far too long.
