Four

My mom stared at Valor as I packed my bag, her eyes trying to read him as he moved undeterred as he placed another bag of mine in the back of my truck.

"Mom, he's not going to hurt me. Besides, even if he tried to, you know I could take him." I said.

Valor turned at that, his sights lingering on me for a moment and he almost seemed enthralled, but my mother came up as she put herself between us.

"You listen to me. If I find out you're hurting my daughter, or using her to fulfill some sick sexual fantasy of yours or you've put your hands on her in Anya way...I'll kill you myself." My mother growled.

"Mrs. Lupin. You have my word I will not harm Willow in any way, she is my mate now and I will protect her with my life." Valor said.

I stared at him because I could tell what he was saying was true.

I was surprised when my mother gave him a hug and I walked back into the house, my suitcase rolling behind me.

Valor flashed me a reassuring smile, the whole gesture catching me off guard as his smile lit up his face. It was warm and inviting and he took my suitcase from me, grabbing my keys as he headed out the door to give my mother and I some privacy.

"He's very handsome." My mother said, trying to make the situation light.

"I noticed, but that's not why I did it." I said giving her a small smile.

"I know, sweet girl. Come visit us soon. " She said softly.

"I will. Tell Dad I love him." I said as I hugged her.

She nodded, kissing my cheek before ushering me out the door.

I saw Valor in the driver's seat and he waved goodbye to my mother as I got in the passenger side.

I didn't even know I had fallen asleep until I woke up and I couldn't recognize where we were, lush mountains and greenery surrounding us on all sides.

My stomach growled, and Valor grinned, holding up a brown paper bag.

I looked down, noticing I was dressed heavier than I was previously, my pajamas gone.

"You changed me?" I asked.

"It's colder up here. I hope you aren't upset. He answered.

"I have a naturally higher temperature since I can shift, but thank you. I'm not mad. You were just trying to be thoughtful, and besides. We did have sex last night, it's nothing you haven't seen." I said quietly.

"That was not sex. I-I don't even know what that was. I feel horrible." He said.

"Don't. I did this. I told you it isn't your fault. You were just trying to help me and I was being a bitch." I said.

He stood quiet as we turned into a dirt road, trees lining either side of it as we climbed up the mountain.

We pulled into a driveway and I was stunned at the gorgeous house in front of me. The house was made up of wood and cobblestone and it was gorgeous and huge with wide windows.

"You live here?" I asked in disbelief.

Valor laughed as he nodded, opening his door and suddenly he was a blur and was at my door, holding it open for me.
