My alarm clock jerks me awake. I turn over to see a very foggy version of my clock. I click the button on the side that turns the alarm off and lay back on the bed. I rub my eyes and will myself into getting up. I feel my toes step on the flashlights that were under my bed. I pick them both up and put them in my drawer. I shower quickly and wash my hair. I put on a casual outfit for work, but make sure to bring a sweater since it is always freezing in there. I tie my hair back in a bun and put some mocassins on. As I am walking down the steps I remember why those flashlights were under my bed. There is no way we didnt have a conversation that night! How else would the flashlights get in my room? There have been no other blackouts since then! Roman did say he had some memory problems... maybe he forgot about that night, just like he forgot about our date. I dont know whats going on, but something isnt right...

~~~~~~
I walk into the library, clutching the hem of my sweater and looking around. There are no librarians at the desk. I need to find someone so I can get my training started. Oh! I didnt finish my training packet. Oh well, I can always finish it when I get off. I turn a corner in one of the book stacks and the librarian that was at the front desk smiles at me and shakes my hand.
"Welcome aboard Angel. I will show you how to work the computer first and then how to sort the books. We will get to labeling later." She says, excitedly.
We walk over to the front desk and she shows me how to log in, how to check inventory, how to check out and enter in returned books, how to create library cards and a lot of other things. Every new skill she teaches me I remember to write down in my notepad.
"Okay you have an hour for lunch. See you later." She smiles and walks out of the library.
I sigh. This is a lot of information to take in, but its not that bad. I can handle it. Better than being a waitress. Mom always complained about her time as a waitress. I look at the clock and go to the bathroom. One hour. I know where I can kill some time. I look at the door of the stall. Someone wrote something on the door.
RUN
Quite ominous.
I wash my hands and walk out of the library, taking my sweater off and feeling the warm sun on my face. I do like that its always warm here. I guess everyone is on lunch. It's busier than usual. I could go home and see if Mom has something, or I could go to that wrap shop. Yeah I will go there. I walk to the wrap restaurant and I get this eerie feeling that Im being followed again. I turn around often, checking every corner and alley. People start cursing me out for not paying attention to whats in front of me. Well, you would be looking everywhere too if you thought you were being followed. This tall, red headed lady bumps into me, knocking me down.
"Watch it!" She yells.
I hold my tongue and stand up, brushing off my clothes.
"You must be new. I mean look at your clothes. You look like my great grandmother!" She exclaims.
I roll my eyes. "Yeah well sorry for bumping into you."
"Oh hey wait! Im sorry. I have no filter." She extends her hand. "Claire. And you are?"
I give her and look and cautiously shake her hand. "Angel."
"Ohh what a pretty name. So how long have you been here in Cali Angel?"
"About a week." I shrug.
"Oh well you gotta always keep your eyes open around here girl. You never know whats gonna pop up in front of you." She says, smiling.
I frown. "I just kinda got the feeling like someone was following me, thats it." I explain.
She laughs. "Oh please honey get in line! If youre a beautiful girl having a stalker will be normal."
