The beautiful sound of the piano could be heard in the Music room as you sat beside Maki. You would come here everyday to meet her. Just to listen to her play the piano. There was rarely a day that you wouldn't meet. "So, Maki. Don't you want to join any club?" you asked out of the blue. Maki abruptly stopped as she heard your question. "N-No. Not really," she replied. You hummed in response as she picked up from where she left off. You leaned your head on her shoulder as she stiffened but slowly relaxed, knowing it was you.

One certain day however, changed your daily schedule with Maki. You went to the music room to see Maki playing the piano. You opened the door and set down your bag. "It's beautiful. Like always." Maki's face was dusted with a light shade of pink. "O-Of course. Who do you think am I?" she sneers. You chuckled lightly as Maki started playing a song. You hadn't heard it before but it was good. "What's the title of this song?" you asked Maki. She replied, not stopping. "Aishiteru Banzai." You closed your eyes, letting the song flow through your mind. Her voice was mesmerizing, like how it always has been. Now, you've had a long term crush on Maki since middle school, if that was even a thing. You never really understood love but you knew it was something good. Like a good change of pace.

Maki had finished the song and you were about to compliment her when you heard clapping. A ginger-haired girl had her face pressed up the window and was clapping to her heart's content. Then, she opened the door and went inside. You didn't want to know what they were talking about so you tuned them out. Next thing you know, Maki was doing push ups, then she tried it with a smile. You sighed. Since the annoying girl had interrupted your special time, you decided to go. "Maki, I'll wait for you by the gate." you took your bag and went ahead. You didn't want to admit it but if Maki ever gets close to anyone else, you would get pretty jealous. You were the only friend she had and she was to you. You wanted to keep it that way.

You walked to the gate, seeing a blue-haired girl and a grey-haired girl walking down the hall. 'Aren't they the ones that want to be school idols?' you shrugged the thought off and continued walking. You knew about them wanting to be school idols. It's been going around the school a lot lately.

You were standing by the gate when Maki finally arrived. "Let's go." she said. You were walking beside her quietly. Which was unusual. Normally, you would tease her and she would blush but you thought she didn't want any of that right now. You broke the awkward silence. "Are you gonna join her? You could be their composer." You asked. You tried to sound supportive but inside, you could hear and feel cracks starting to form in your heart. "No. I told her I didn't want to." she replied. Her voice seemed softer than usual. Leaving her to her thoughts, you walked in silence.

'If she wants to join, who am I to stop her? It's what she wants.' You dropped Maki off at her house and continued to walk over to yours. Since you didn't really live too far from her, you made a tradition to bring Maki to her house before continuing to yours.

You opened the door to your house, greeting your mom who was in the kitchen, preparing you a snack. "I've made you some food. You can eat after you take a bath." your mom said. You smiled and went to your room.

'If Maki wants to join a club, I should support her. Thankfully, she taught me a bit of piano. Maybe I could make something for her.' You hurriedly got out of the tub and put on a towel. Quickly changing into more comfortable clothes, you grabbed a few sheets of paper, a pencil and you sat down on your desk. You thought up a tune and wrote down the notes, humming as you went.
