Here's the fourth chapter! Dedicated to Bentovrrbckwards for inspiring me to write this chapter and providing me with a useful technique. Hope you enjoy this.
ALEISHA'S POV
I ran. I know what you all are thinking, that I'm a coward and I'm not used to dealing with haters. I've dealt with my fair share of haters and problems, but I just wasn't ready to deal with one right in public. Also, his glare made all the hairs at the nape of my neck stand up. So, I did the only thing I could at that moment to escape. I ran.
Once I'm outside I take a deep breath. Dae is soon outside too. The only difference was that she isn't panting like a sloth who ran a marathon. Perks of being on the soccer team and track team.
I turn to look at her and she raises an eyebrow, obviously puzzled as to my sudden urge to run. That's probably the fastest and the most I've ever run.
"Let's just say that our little morning talk didn't go as well as my usual talks," I say, visibly dejected.
Dae gives me a questioning look.
"Basically, he hated my guts. He thinks that he doesn't need my help and that he's perfectly alright by himself" I say, hoping she wouldn't ask what I said to him because now that I think about it, telling him that he had no friends was rude.
Before she can ask anything else, I walk towards my car. " I'm crashing at yours," I say getting into my car as she gets into hers.
I turn on the radio and decide on a station as I hear the beginning notes of Hotel Ceiling play.
As I stop at a red light, I look out, resting my head on the cool glass. It had started drizzling outside.
To say I was guilty was an understatement, but I had my reasons. Reasons only Daena would understand.
I miss him.
I miss him so fricking damn much.
And right now he would be so disappointed in me. A tear rolls down my cheek as the signal turns green. I blink the blurriness away and continue driving.
A few minutes later, I pull up into Dae's driveway. I get out of the car and walk towards the entrance, leaving my school bag at the back of the car. I spot her car and know that she's already here.
I tiptoe across the hall and up the stairs as it was almost midnight and everyone except Dae and me were pretty much asleep.
Getting into her room, I walk past her without a word and grab some shorts and a soccer jersey of hers.
Once I'm in the washroom, I look at myself in the mirror and wince. My mascara is all smeared as my tears had turned to full on sobs in the car.
I splash some cool water on to my face as I scrub hard to remove my makeup. I change into the clothes I grabbed, walk out of the washroom and climb into her bed.
Dae looks at me doubtfully but then understands that I'm in no mood to talk so she reaches over and turns off the light.
Just as I'm about sleep, she whispers, "It'll get better Ali. It will"
I just listened and hoped it would.
