Evan nervously rang the doorbell, waiting for Jeremy to answer. He had texted Evan to come over to the Mell's house, and even though he didn't really like Michael, he knew that Jeremy would be there. He really needed someone to talk to.
He shot Jeremy a text, telling him he was at Michael's when the front door opened.
"Hey Evan! Jeremy will be here soon."
Evans heart dropped when he saw only Michael standing there. "O-oh, um, okay!"
He awkwardly shuffled in. "Want something? Water?"
"N-no, um, t-thank you, though." Evan moved so he was closer to the photos. He looked at them, admiring the smiling, happy family. It was really sweet, until he noticed something.
On the corner of one of the pictures, was a spot of blood. He looked at the other ones, and they all had a tiny bit of splattered blood.
Oh god oh god oh god.
Before he could move, Michael came up behind him, and covered his mouth with a chloroform rag. Evan struggled, but was unable to escape Michael's grasp. Eventually, he realized he didn't have anything to struggle for, and he let the darkness over take him.
Michael smiled when he felt Evans full weight in his arms. That was easy. He started to drag him out towards the shed when the front door swung open.
"Hey sweetheart, sorry, uh, Evan texted-"
Jeremy stopped when he saw Evan slumped in Michael's arms.
There was a horrible silence between the two boys.
"Hey baby! How was school?"
Jeremy ignored his question. "Is that Evan? Is he dead?"
Michael smiled. "Yes. Well, to this being Evan. Soon he'll be dead. Do you want to sit on the couch? I still have to,you know, get the meat for tonight." Michael motioned to the slumped body in his arms.
"W-what?" Jeremy felt like he was going to be sick.
"Dinner tonight! Pork sandwiches?"
When Jeremy didn't respond, he continued. "Well anyway, he's heavy so I'm going to go put him in the shed."
"I-is this, um." Michael stopped when Jeremy started talking. "Is this, the... first time?"
"First time what?"
Jeremy hesitated, thousands of thoughts rubbing through his head. "Killing someone. Is this the first time you've killed someone?"
"Well, to put it this way... did you know human flesh tastes like pork? Now, think about how much pork you've eaten here."
Jeremy's eyes flashed to the hundreds of times he'd eaten here, and realized most of them had had pork.
Oh god.
Jeremy's legs locked, and he fell onto the couch. "T-this, this isn't good Michael."
"Sure it is, Jeremy! I'm helping them. They want to go, but most are just too afraid go on their own. Momma taught me that. She says that it's our job to help others. So, we help them!"
"W-we?"
"Yeah! You know, my momma mostly cooks. Dad helps her sometimes, but he's in charge of the kills." Michael's smile grew. "And... and now you can help me!"
"H-help, help, you?"
"Yeah! Come on, follow me!" Michael picked up Evan, and placed him on his shoulders, heading towards the shed. "You're gonna love this, baby."
