Leah

Why am I even doing this? I am 17 years old, I should be out with friends and getting ready for my future but no! I'm sitting here on my way to Madagascar to see if I'll be one of the princes 6 wives. Ugh stupid Accondelites. Of course I'm thinking all of this, if I said any out loud I would be in serious trouble. Oh, let me introduce myself. My name is Leah Travis, I am 17 years old and 5'6. I have curly chocolate brown hair, dark brown eyes, and I'm tan thanks to my Hispanic side. Anyway, back to the story. A girl who looked about 12 sat at my side. She looks terrified, heck, everyone here looks terrified. The hovercraft doors open seconds after landing and they begin to usher us out. Crossing my arms I stand up and storm out of there. It gave me the creeps anyway, I hate flying. I get weird looks from some girls, it's like they are saying " why are you going so fast? Do you want to be picked?!" Ignoring the looks I try and find the girl who sat next to me. She looked so young, I just wan to protect her. But then again, I don't even know her name. My brain starts trying to figure out what she looked like as I'm ushered into a huge car. And that's when I see her. I shuffle in front of some girls and then sit next to her. She's staring out the window, her face is pale. I wonder what I look like to them? Anyway, she makes me feel so protective that I just have to talk to her. What do I say? Hey, how's it going? Mentally , I slap myself for that one. Ending up just striking up a small, very small, conversation with her I learn that her name is Bri and she's only 14. 14?! Why would you push someone so young to be married? This is ridiculous. We get to the place, yes it was beautiful. We are ushered inside fast and told to sit and wait for our names to be called. Like in the car, I sit next to Bri. She has finally started to panic. My brain told me to grab her hand and comfort her but before I could her name was called. She was first. How can a 14 year old be first? Standing up she looks as if she might faint but she walks over to the doors. She goes inside the room. This is the part where the rest of the girls wait. And wait, until your name is called. A few moments later the doors open, Bri is taken to another room where you wait to see if you are chosen or not. Waiting. There is so much waiting to do today. "Leah Travis," an Accondelite man shouted. Crap, guess I don't have to wait long. I wipe my hands on my jeans before standing up. Some girls look at me and one even whispers a good luck. Making my way to the doors seems to take ages but only took less then a few seconds. I close my eyes, breathe through my nose and push the doors open. Another Accondelite man pushes me into the room and places me in front of a table consisting of four, may I say, very handsome Accondelite boys. They ask me a series of questions ranging from what my favorite color is to why my parents waited so long to send me. I answer all of them like I was taught to. Be polite, look at them in the eyes, and smile. Always smile. Honestly the last thing I wanted to do was smile right now. "That is all," one of them says and waves me out of the room. I was then taken to the room where you wait to see if you are chosen. As soon as I walk in I see Bri and run over to her. "Bri! How are you? Are you okay? How do you think it went?" I bombarded her with questions, while looking her over making sure she's okay. She forces a smile, "I'm, uh, okay I guess? I don't know how it went. I think I might have been picked....," she whispers the last part. My eyes widen and she adds, "how was yours?" I shake my head and say that I think I might have been picked but I honestly don't know. She nods. I start to twiddle with my fingers as I await the long and terrible waiting ahead.
