I notice all of the rough and smooth textures of his suit as it clings to his muscular statue. Black and silver lines snake along his limbs, adding detail to the otherwise red and blue costume. A spider is sprawled out on the back and chest area of the suit, its eight legs curving along with his build.

He turns on his perch so he's facing the direction of me. The reflective eyes of his mask stare right at me and I'm started when he suddenly leaps off the edge of the roof. He runs right towards me and I swear I hear him say my name under that mask.

"STOP," Electro bellows, electricity spurting off of him. Spider-Man freezes in his tracks, but doesn't turn away from me. He's only a few strides in front of me, so I stand up slowly and hold my breath. The thought of the real life Spider-Man coming to my rescue makes my heart melt, but Electro's words keep replaying in my head. I'm his weakness? Why?

"Are you alright, Emma?" Spider-Man asks, his voice slightly muffled from his mask.

"I'm okay," I reply, my voice cracking slightly. I'm trying so hard to recognize his voice or his body but no one comes to mind.

"Don't move," he whispers harshly. I nod in reply and he turns on his heel to face a grinning Electro.

"Surprise," the villain sneers.

"Let her go!" Spider-Man bellows. The tone of his voice tugs at the back of my memory, but I still can't place it. It's literally driving me insane. Electro lets out a deep laugh that is laced with crackling electricity.

"Why? So you can sweep her away and then leave me again? Leave me to the voices in my head? To all this power that I now have?"

"I'm not gonna leave you again. I'm sorry. What if we talk right now? Would you like that? Let's talk," Spider-Man says, his voice growing softer. There is still a little touch of desperation behind it, and I can hear his heavy breathing creeping through the fibers of his mask. Spider-Man is slowly creeping towards this glowing man, his hands at the ready by his sides. Electro stares him down, seemingly considering this offer. What happened to this guy that made him so angry? Why is he so set on revenge?

"The time for talking is over," Electro finally yells, his voice deepening and his hands flickering. Spider-Man holds up his own hands as if to steady the villain, but he can't stop the bolt of lightning that shoots out of his fingertips.

I let out a gasp, expecting the worst, but Spider-Man jumps out of the way just in time. He lands perfectly perched up on the edge of the building and in this moment he really does look like a spider. He glances over his shoulder at me before looking back at Electro who is fuming.

"Come on Sparkles, we can work something out! I want to help you!" Spider-Man yells, once again sounding genuine yet at the same time almost panicked.

"You wanted to be the hero—now you've got to pay the price," Electro growls. To my surprise and Spider-Man's, Electro points his hand at me and I can literally see the electricity building within his fingertips. At the exact same time, I hear someone yell and the crack of lightning. Something rams into my side abruptly and I'm pushed out of the way. I feel myself fly through the air until I slam into the ground. Something breaks my fall, so my arm and ankle are the only thing that actually hit the cement of the roof.

I let out a cry of pain and roll my ankle, hearing something crack back into place. When I open my eyes, I see that I am laying right on top of Spider-Man, so I scrabble off of him in embarrassment.

"You okay?" he asks me with a groan. I nod in response and help him to his feet. The fabric of his suit is surprisingly thick under my fingers as I tug him off the ground by his arm.
