Keith's Point of View
I was breathing heavily as I sparred against the bots along side the others. Damn it, Allura was not going easy on us today. I don't know what made her go all out on us in the first place. Probably because of that idiot ditching and (Y/n) having to go after him. I swear Lance can be so pathetic at times. We've almost lost lions due to his carelessness.
"Nngh!" I grunt out as I clash my sword against the bot's. I manage to push myself off the hold and run back into the center of its chest. With a strong strike, I pierce through its abdominal area and knock it down. Anger seethed through me. Huffing, I stared towards the rest of the group who was still wrangling with their own bots.
"You good Keith?" Shiro manages to yell out as he's trying to cut through his bot. "Isn't that your third bot so far?"
I grumble and get back to a fighting stance. "Yup," I reply "-and I'm not finished yet."
As I'm about to call out for another bot, I hear the door from across the training deck slide open. Glancing over, I see (Y/n) and Lance walk in. He was laughing. Is he fucking serious? First he ditches training, a really, really hard day of training, then he just waltzes in here like it's none of his business. Who does he think he is?
I drop my bayard with a loud clang and trudge into their direction. I could feel a drop of sweat drip down and curve alongside my face. My fists were balled to my sides and my focus was all towards Lance. He's so stupid, he's so annoying, he's so-
"Keith?" (Y/n) calls out as she stares towards my menacing gaze.
Then just like that, I smash my fist into Lance's smug little face. Hard.
Lance lands on the floor with a loud thud. It's not like I cared. He lets out a huge groan as he holds the right side of his cheek then flinches. Everyone comes running towards the commotion.
"Keith! What the hell?" yells (Y/n) as she kneels to aid Lance. I wipe my mouth with my arm. "That's for skipping training while the rest of us are working our asses off."
"Are you serious right now Keith?!" (Y/n) shouted. Lance shot up and looked at me with both confusion and anger. "Wha-? Man, fuck you!" he seethes with blood pouring out of his mouth. I wasn't even finished with him yet. "-And this," I begin to say as I raise my fist to punch him again. "-is for always being-"
I felt a strong fist pummel my face roughly. For a split second, I could see stars. Before I landed on the hard floor. I could barely process I was being dragged out of the training deck. That was until I was slammed onto one of the walls of the corridors and I completely regained consciousness. My vision adjusted and I was surprised to see (Y/n) leaning on the opposite side of the wall, arms crossed, and glaring at me. Shit, I was socked by her?

(Y/n)'s Point of View
"Mind telling me what the hell was all that?" I spoke. My glare was meant to be intimidating, but he simply crossed his arms and muttered. "He deserved it, he was ditching practice and-"
"Damn it Keith you probably broke a part of his jaw!" I yelled impatiently. Keith's expression was still hard but softened very slightly once I mentioned his action. He looked down towards his feet and crossed his arms tighter. I don't think he even realized how bad he hit Lance. There was an uncomfortable silence until he mumbled "Is-is he gonna be alright?"
"I guess. I mean it's not like you seem to care anyways." I let out a sigh and try to soften up. "Keith, why'd you do it?" I say with intent.
"I-" he groans "I don't know okay? I just- ugh."
"You just what?" I say trying to get him to continue.
"I-I just feel like if Lance could train with us more often, he would be better with most things. I'm n-not saying he's bad at the stuff he does, he just gets distracted easily. I guess that's why I got so upset, I don't want him to feel less advanced or worthy than us when he skips training. I like him, a lot, but he shouldn't-" Keith immediately stops himself and blushes the color of his lion. "I uh, i-ignore that last part."
"Actually just forget I said anything-" he continues.
"Keith"
"-because what I said wasn't true at all and-" he rambles.
"Keith!" I yell to get him to stop rambling. "Yeah?" he murmurs. "It's okay," I say "It's good to talk about your feelings instead of keeping them to yourself all the time. Do you- do you really like Lance? As in like-like?"
Keith remained blushed and gazed towards the floor. "A-Am I allowed to?"
I almost wanted to slap the boy right then and there, but instead I grab his shoulders and gaze at him steadily. "Keith of course you can like him, hell, love him if you have to, love him until you're aching." He gives me a look of shock and says "But back on earth, there were so many problems with these kinds of things. For loving someone who was the same. People would lose families and friends because of this. Some people would even get hurt or k-killed."
I groan and say "Keith, are you on earth? No, are there people that are going to judge you? Hell yeah but you know what? They don't matter Keith, what you feel matters. It matters more than anything in space."
Keith had a strange glimmer in his eyes as I spoke to him. As if I was spoon feeding him all the little things of how he shouldn't be thinking of this in the wrong way. Then, unexpectedly, Keith lunged foward and wrapped his arms around me. I smile and hug him back. The embrace was short, before he pulled away and says "Don't tell anyone I just did that." I chuckle and reply "All right, but you better go off to find Lance and apologize."
He gives off a slight beamed smile and runs off.
I knew they would work out.
(A/n): welp
