Eddie and Richie were always close, though the smart remarks and inappropriate jokes from Richie made Eddie think otherwise, he still loved his bes- could he even call him a best friend?

Ever since the day Richie grabbed hold of his face during the attack with "It" Eddie quickly realized something.

He loved Richie.

Not how best friends would love each other, the type of "Love" that means you want a relationship with them.

Eddie wasn't experienced with love at all, so he didn't mind keeping everything a secret. He knew Richie wouldn't be into boys, and even more specifically, into him.

"Hey Eds, what ya thinkin' about?"
Richie grinned, picking up a big stick and dragging it across the dirt as they walked down the trail.

"N-Nothing, it's none of your business." The shorter boy replied, turning his head away to avoid letting Richie see his fired up cheeks.

"Hmm.. Okay."
Richie smirked, he had a plan.

The two boys were laying on their backs, flashlights shone onto the ceiling and giggles and random cuss words were whispered throughout the room.

"I mean it! Your mom could sit on me if she wan-"
"Shut up, Richie."

Richie laughed even harder, feeling a warm pool in his stomach; he gulped, finally maintaining the balls to ask.

Of course he did, he's Richie.

"Hey.. Eds? Can I do something?"
Richie whispered, Eddie nodded; thinking that he'd do something stupid or inappropriate but-

Once he felt a pair of warm arms wrapping around his waist, and a chaste kiss pressed on his lips, he thought otherwise.

"I-I love you."
Richie breathed out, preparing for rejection; he thought about every horrific situation that could occur this very seco-

"I love you too, Richie."
Eddie smiled, pressing a small peck onto Richie's neck.

And the two slept until the sun rose.
