"eds, i'm n-not sick. it's just a cold alright?" richie's voice strained, soon coughs erupted from his mouth; eddie sighed. placing a cold folded up towel on richie's forehead.

"yeah, keep yapping so you lose your voice and i wont have to hear your stupid mouth run on about my mother." the smaller boy rolled his eyes, sitting next to richie's weak form.

"thanks eddie spaghetti, you sure know how to make a girl's heart flutter." richie had another coughing fit, ignoring the worried eyes that were analyzing his face.

"i'm o-okay, chill out eds."
richie gave out a small chuckle, ruffling up eddie's hair. to which, eddie responded with an annoyed groan.

"don't do that.. it's making my heart feel weird." eddie mumbled quietly, turning away to hide his red cheeks; richie raised an eyebrow, sitting up.

the taller boy placed his hand on top of eddie's, his words were hitched in his throat and he gulped.

"eddie, look at me."
"w-wha..what?"

the two faced each other, staring into each other's eyes. silence filled the room, and nothing other than birds and bikes racing by were heard.

richie placed a small kiss on eddie's cheek, eddie couldn't really tell if his red cheeks were from his fever or-

"wha- richie!"
eddie's face turned bright red, earning a strained giggle from his best friend.
