so... I was sure I had a certain part in this chapter already uploaded ... But apparently not. so here. I wrote this jamming out to All Time Low and Arctic Monkeys. sorry I haven't written in forever, deal with it. Kinda short but...

Everyone was busy getting ready, leaving Daniella on her own to deal with eating. Of course, her first instinct was to go to the serving table with the horrendous instant "meals" only because it was easy and to be honest, was almost an ingrained habit. However, since today's special tasted like lemon peels (Was it? She couldn't really tell), she decided not to force feed herself and see what else she could muster.

The kitchen really was only a range of cupboards. With the instant meal table, actual cooking and storage of food was unnecessary. These were mostly used to store cleaning products; however, seeing as there had been some amount of food produced from somewhere, Daniella thought it was worth a shot to check there. There wasn't likely food in the rooms anyways.

Luckily, Daniella didn't look far. She came across some granola bars and water bottles. Munching on the bar, she flopped onto the living room couch.

She had just unwrapped the bar when the doorbell rang.

Daniella froze. Who could be at the door? Soldiers? To say her hands didn't perspire on her way towards the door would be a blatant lie. She had to open the door. If it was the Soldiers, then she couldn't pretend she wasn't home. They have heat sensing guns- they would know of everyone in the home already. And neighbors never stopped by, so either at the door stood inevitable doom, or someone who want another mindless sheep of the Order.

Still, Daniella attempted to peer through the-

"Daniella!" It was Kurt. "Shit, Adam, what's wrong with your sister?!"

Daniella didn't take kindly to this. "Honestly, what could happen if I open the door? If it's the soldiers, they already know we're here-"

"But they can't get in." Oswald had stepped into the conversation. "There are spells in place, and they can't get in without being let in."

Frustrated, Daniella retorted, "What, isn't there a spell to know who's out there?"

"Oh yeah. We're magic, duh." Ozzi went into an odd stance, different than Rosemary's. While Rose's movements while conjuring fire were more fluid and hypnotic, the stance Oz took was more stolid, firm. A moment passed, and he shook his head. "Nope. Don't know 'em."

By then, Adam had finally arrived. "Can you describe them? Did they seem to be... Were they-?"

"They seemed normal, but as we know, not everything is as it seems. What should we do?"

As they started discussing, Daniella took advantage of the situation. Stealthily, she turned back to the door and gasped at who she saw standing on the other side of the door. Unfortunately for her, it was audible.

"Daniella, wait!"

But it was too late. The door was open and she was suddenly taken up in embrace by... Phineas?

"Daniella, are you okay? We've been so worried-how did you even get out?"

His questions remained unanswered though, as he was forcefully pushed off the girl, the door was shut, and Daniella was forced behind a wall of men, including the others who had appeared at some point unnoticed.

"Guys!" She cried out, "Guys, it's okay, I know him!"

"Stop! He could be under cover!" Daniella didn't know who said this, but she didn't care. Infuriated by the lack of respect she'd been receiving lately from the guys, she used her pointed elbows and made her way in until she stood by the near stranger she used to live next to.

"Phineas," she enunciated, stressing that she knew the 'intruder', "is a friend. He was my fak- er, my..." She glanced from her real brother to the 'brother' she'd been assigned, but had been familiar to her for the last five years. Though she barely knew him even after all this time, he was sort of comforting during this unstable limbo between the normal world she right she lived in and the magic world she seemed to belong to, and she didn't want to be rude. But she couldn't insult her brother by referring to the outsider in this situation as a 'brother', especially when they weren't that close. Thankfully though, they seemed to understand that she knew him. "We can trust him."

Sammy, to her right, whispered low so only Danny could hear, "How much does he know?"

However, they were all shocked when Phineas smiled grimly, reaching up to his eye, pinching, and removing a brown contact from dandelion- colored eyes. "I know more than you'd think."
