So Happy Easter! (Sorta- I'm uploading this after Easter, so idk) I have a bunch of homework that I still haven't done this long weekend and I haven't written in FOREVER and I'm bored right now so here.
Soon after, Adam and Rose coaxed Daniella to sleep with promises of answers in the morning. Although it was still a fitful sleep, she managed to not be so bad so that Rosemary slept in the room as well, albeit on the floor. Daniella felt guilty- she was causing everyone grief. She couldn't do anything right, heck, she could barely walk a few blocks in the rain. For Daniella, it was an all- time low.
When she woke up the next morning, she was thoroughly surprised to find 7 faces intently watching her. "Gah!"
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure she was asleep," Phil said grimly. She felt rather crowded by all the people.
"Why are you guys all staring at me?"
"We're not staring, Princess, we're watching," quipped Oz. Adam gave him an indecipherable look.
Daniella, not a morning person, grumbled once more, "Fine, why are you all watching me then?"
Everyone else cast uneasy looks at each other. Ru replied first.
"Well, you were kinda... sleep- spelling."
"What, like a spelling bee? Wait, I talk in my sleep?"
Sam shook his head. "No, like you were kinda casting spells in your sleep. Rose thinks you were levitating things, she heard thuds when they fell." Daniella craned her neck and noticed the state of the one neat room- clothes were everywhere, papers scattered. Luckily, there weren't many things in the room.
"The good news," said Adam, "is that you should sleep better for a while now that you've released some of your magic. Bad news is, we don't know what you're capable of. Newbies are unstable and unpredictable. Within the next week, we should find out what most- if not all- of your natural powers are, and then I guess we'd be able to start teaching you spells." He shrugged- Daniella marvelled at how casually he said this. Then something he said caught her attention.
"What do you mean, 'natural powers'?"
"Well, it's like some things that you can just do without having a wand or chanting a spell. Mind you, that doesn't make it any easier." Kurt said this all matter-of-factly, as if it were common knowledge. "Like what you saw R. Mary doing yesterday with her fire thing."
"So does it, like, correspond with our personality?"
"How'd you guess that?" blurted Sam.
"Lucky guess." Daniella shrugged.
Phil continued, "Yes, that's correct, and it also has to do with your eyes- it's recently been discovered that a precious stone that matches your eye color can improve your magic's potency. I'm talking garnett, diamond, sapphire, and in rare cases, steel or cobalt- like Sam's eyes."
"Wait, you're not trying to tell me all that emerald- healing- and- health-power and pearl amulet of Aphrodite junk is true, are you?" Daniella thought of her brother's emerald eyes, and how he'd healed her the other night.
Adam shook his head. "No, whatever powers you get are exactly what you get-there's no way to predetermine exactly what you'll be able to do."
"That sounds so cheesey it's not even funny." Daniella sat up in the bed and crossed her arms, tucking them into the crease of each elbow and leaned forwards.
Then she noticed Rosemary had disappeared in the midst of their conversation. Suddenly she was aware that she was surrounded by guys. And that she looked awful. And that they'd been watching her sleep.
