SORRY SORRY SORRY its short but thank you for reading my stupid story
Since Phineas had explained that he couldn't tell them how or why he found them, the boys had gone on a full on interrogation. Unfortunately, it seemed that he wasn't in the position to answer questions, which only drew out their suspicion further. Daniella, who had (not) been attempting to eavesdrop since she had been kicked out of the kitchen where the boys spoke (which seemed to have an anti-eavesdropping/ anti- Daniella spell on it) was once more breaking out into a sweat, but it was different this time. Now that she knew what caused it and since she had finally used some of her powers, her illness of sorts had not been so stressful.
Rosemary was no where to be found. Daniella wished she'd come back so she could have someone to talk to. She was starting to become friends with her, and as she was the only other girl here, they kind of shared a feminine bond of estrogen in a testosterone fest. Plus she felt like she would understand the whole Phineas situation better than the boys were handling it. This did nothing to help her painful headache.
While everyone was preoccupied, Daniella decided to do some snooping around. 'If everyone would stop being so secretive, a curious girl like me wouldn't be tempted to sneak around and look through everyone's stuff,' she rationalized, only feeling a little bad. Plus, there were some major mysteries that still needed solving. Not to mention she might stumble across useful information to hold against one of the boys.
Her first target would be Kurt. She was sure he would have some freaky cool things in his room- frankly she was sure that the contents of the other boys room would be more of a freaky weird than a freaky cool.
She was sure she saw him enter the last room down the hall when she went to sleep last night. And so she crept slowly, tippy-toe-ing past the other boys rooms (although she was aware of the fact that all of the boys were safely occupied at the moment, she still felt that the secrecy was necessary). Finally she made it to the white wooden door. Holding her breath, she slowly reached for the knob and began to turn it. She was in no hurry to open the door, because she knew from previous sneaking endeavors that the quicker she tried to open it, the more loud, creaky, and obvious her entrance would be. Cautiously, the door was gently pushed open on it's hinges.
Daniella didn't know what she had expected, but it sure as hell wasn't this. This line sounded very cliche in her mind as she thought it, but it was much truer than in any other instance.
The door was magic, that much she gathered. Her headache receded to a dull throb as she saw it. How or why it existed, she wasn't sure, but she didn't care. What she did care about was how the village of her dreams, the quaint valley where she had imagined seeing her dad, could possibly be real.
The door opened into what seemed to be the mouth of a wet cave, water dripping from the ceiling and pooling on the floor of the cave, where it trickled in a small stream out. Daniella spied young children of all ethnicities, ages, and sizes tumbling around what seemed to be the main hub of the village with a cobbled stone pavement and a water display in the center. A wall of water trickled into a pool and dropped down a small waterfall into a shallow moat around a statue. From this distance, she couldn't make out what the figure was, but she was sure going to find out.
But maybe not right now. Phineas was here, being harrassed by the others. She hadn't seen Rosemary in a while. And she was sure that her brother would need an inhaler the moment he realized that she wasn't in the home unit.
Too many questions. She was sure that Kurt had gone there last night, and she was sure she had dreamt of that exact place. It was so similar, and the mountain range was unmistakable. Silently she closed the door. She had thought it was made up before, but she was sure that this was it. If it existed, where was it? The world was so 'civilized' now, and she thought that the Order had managed to claim all inhabitable land. And, more importantly, how had she dreamed of a place she'd never visited?
Having had enough adventure for now, she trekked back to the living room- and just in time too.
The kitchen door opened, the men of the apartment filing out, and Daniella's eyes snapped up eagerly, searching for her friend- she found this to be the best label- Phineas. However she was quickly disappointed, as he was not included in the lineup. Finally Daniella became aware of the posture and positioning of the boys- that is, she noticed how the boys surrounded her with their arms crossed. Daniella shrank back into the couch, wishing it would swallow her whole. However, she needed to know what went down while she was booted from the kitchen, so her curiostity consumed her sense of her impending doom. When she saw her brother open his mouth, she quickly intercepted the conversation with her uncanny ability to talk herself out of a situation at a rapid-speed pace, her mind whirring a million miles an hour.
"I'm so sorry, it'll never happen again, I realize what I did was wrong and I realize the danger of the situation now and I know what I was doing was stupid but thankfully it was just my friend Phineas and it's all okay and I'd let you ground me but you kinda can't so I'd really appreciate if you could just fill me in quest and tell me what's up," she uttered, all in one breath.
Adam blinked. He shook his shaggy head, muttering something along the lines of 'I forgot that she did that.' He pinched the bridge of his nose, a habit he seemed to have picked up from their mom, and suddenly it hit Daniella how old he'd grown in the past 5 years. He had to grow up, and now he'd never be the same. Adam was having to parent her now, and Daniella didn't like that. She was grown, too. She shouldn't cause any extra stress on him, or anyone. She decided in that moment that she needed a plan for everything from now on, no more reckless last minute decisions. A small voice in her head mentioned that it was risky decision that got her here, but she silenced it immediately.
Her brother sighed. "What's done is done. We just have a few questions to ask you now. About your 'friend.'"
