hello yes this is chapter
The End.
Just kidding. April Fools (not really I'm updating this after but whatever. It's still April, and it's not called April 1st fools)
I've decided I'm doing frequent short updates because it seems it's all I'm capable of.
So I really should be doing my geometry homework from yesterday also MY TEETH HURT BECAUSE ORTHODONTIST and I had popcorn for breakfast and here is your chapter.
Daniella looked around but couldn't find Rosemary. She plopped on the couch, defeated, a bird tired of flying through the storm. 'Magic? why not.'
At this point, Daniella was sure she would believe anything anyone told her- because if magic existed what else might be true? Maybe leprechauns danced naked with drunk dinos, who knew? Not Daniella.
As she pondered the idea of a secret world of magic hidden right between her eyes, her thoughts always trailed back to Rosemary's fire. Magic was so alluring, so... enchanting. Even Rose's eyes seemed to light with the same spark as her finger tips when she... did whatever it was she did. Something so mystical and mysterious could be so... dangerous.
She pulled up her knees to her chest and hugged them close to her body. She was suddenly very cold. Vaguely, she wondered what was up with her body's violent temperature changes. Right then, one of the boys from earlier tumbled out of the hallways, followed by 4 others.
"Would you care to tell me why someone was doing magic in the apartment? At night? Oh, great, and of course the windows are open-"
"Rosemary," Daniella interrupted, "she was showing me magic... my brother let her. He said it was fine..." She takes off, unsure. What was her brother's relation to these men? Superior, equal, or inferior? Where they friends or did they barely tolerate him?
The man's face fell to desperate horror. "Please tell me she didn't do-"
"Fire?" Daniella was confused as to why were they so worked up. They obviously knew what magic was. "Why is it such a big deal?"
"Because the curtains are open for the world and The Order to see magic and all its glor-... oh, how clever, Adam."
Daniella shook her head, confused. "No, Adam isn't here." Under her breath, she continued, "Ding- dong."
With a strange look from the five boys, who had come out from the hallway and were now scattered around the living room, the first continued, "Well, your brother put up a barrier shield before he left... meaning any magic performed in this apartment would be concealed from the Order and any bystander who might report it."
"Why does it- sorry, what's your name?- why does it matter that the Order finds out more than it matters if any regular people do?"
"It's Phil here. Elsewhere, you'll soon find out. And you know why the Order is worse." At Daniella's slightly aggravated but still blank look, he sized her up. "You really don't know, do you?"
"Obviously not," she retorted in a steely tone. She was getting fed up with him quickly.
"Don't worry. You'll find out soon. I'm just not the person to ask."
Frustrated with the lack of answers, Daniella gave up. "Whatever. Who are the rest of you guys?"
The onyx- eyed guy from earlier cheerfully answered first. "Oswald!"
"Kurt," replied a man with midnight blue eyes and a tall, lean stature... curtly. He stood, almost protectively, next to a man of similar body type with cobalt eyes- grey with peculiar flecks of violent blue. "Sam," supplied the boy who Daniella assumed was Kurt's younger brother.
"And I'm- don't laugh- Rupert." This was said by the last, the one with a boyish grin and smooth fudge colored eyes. Daniella smiled warmly at them, for as frustrated as she was, she couldn't help but to like them.
"I could call you Ru, if you'd like."
At this, his face lit up and he cried, "I finally have a nickname!" He pumped his fist and Daniella couldn't help but giggle.
"Ok, I'm not calling any of you guys by your actual names. You all get nicknames now. Oswald, you're Ozzi. Or if we're looking for you, Waldo. Get it? N- nevermind. Sam is-"
"People already call me Sammy, Daniella."
"Sham."
"What even the heck?" said Sham. Daniella only replied by sticking out her tongue. "Phil is Filbert."
"Why?!"
"Kurt is..."
"Don't," demanded Kurt dangerously.
"K."
"Thanks," said Kurt with a slightly relieved sigh.
Daniella laughed. "No, you don't understand... your nickname is K."
He chuckled, as if he had expected much worse. Almost like he didn't mind it. "You little stinker, you." He stopped abruptly. "I still don't like you, Daniella." But then he smiled once more, letting her know he was only joking.
Then Daniella noticed that at least twice they'd used her name. "How do you know my brother and I? And why are you here?"
Oz replied first. This seemed to be a trend with him. "Everyone knows who you are, Darling." Bemused, Daniella stored that in her 'Ask Later' box. "Also, Ms. Snow White, we kinda live here."
"Oh, I'm sorry... I could leave-"
This was replied to with a unanimous shout of 'No!'
"That's another thing. We're kinda your body guards," said Rupert.
"Wait..." Daniella started, casting a quizzical glance at Oz. "Ms. Snow White?"
"Well, you are looking kinda pale right now... and your hair's black..."
Kurt was confused. "Wait, wait, wait, Ms. Inquisitor-"
"Seriously, what is up with all of your nicknames?" Daniella interjected.
Kurt continued as if he hadn't been interrupted. " -You ask all these questions, and when we mention being your bodyguards you don't care?"
Daniella shrugged. "I've been through a lot the past two days. Plus it kinda makes sense... sorta. I really don't care to know, anyways. Ignorance is bliss, yo." She said, quoting something her dad would say when someone would be ignorant.
"You don't say," Ru replied dryly. "And it's actually been three. Today's Sunday."
"Even better. Any 'Wanted' posters yet?"
"Not yet..." said Sammy. All of the boys sent each other worried glances.
Ozzie was the first to inquire. "Speaking of which, do you know any reason why the people you lived with wouldn't report you missing? That's pretty bizarre."
Daniella shook her head. "I don't know. they're all pretty adherent to the rules... Brown eyes, wake up on time, the like." She bit her tongue.
They'd all been acting pretty strange lately, especially Phineas. But was it even relevant? She decided to keep it to herself and tucked it away in a mental box for later. She then looked around the room again and noticed everyone was quiet and looking intently at her.
Oswald was the first to break the silence. "So, nicknames for Daniella?"
Ok I extended the chapter for you guys be happy. no wait not that happy
