I couldn’t believe this was happening; Brandon had realised there was no hope of getting me into a fireman’s carry so instead I was in his arms, in a newlywed carry. I looked up at him hopefully, pleading with my eyes.
“Please Brandon.” I begged. “Why are you doing this?”
“Well, for one it’s going to be very amusing and between me and you,” he leaned in closer so only I could here. “I’m sure Becca will appreciate it.” He grinned goofily. I could help but laugh at the fact she obviously liked him and he was trying to impress her. With all of these kids in here you’d think they’d have been set up by now. “What’s funny? Do you know something I don’t?” I saw confusion flash over his tanned face.
“You really think I’m going to tell you anything while your carrying me into my worst nightmare?” I asked raising my eyebrows. I knew it was too late though we were already at the French doors. I swallowed and shut my eyes, I really didn’t want to do this, I was a really self-conscious person. My eyes snapped open as I thought of an idea; I knew id have to act fast because I could hear all of the kids outside and Brandon was stretching for the handle.
“Wait!” I exclaimed, he paused and looked at me questionably. I was aware of Evie and Becca behind him so I kept my voice hushed. “I’ll tell you everything I know about it; I’ll find out how Becca feels and everything.” I grinned anticipating a triumph.
“Nice try kid. But I’d rather take my chances with fate and besides this is going to be priceless.” He chuckled opening the door.
“I will never forgive you for this Brandon.” I said crossing my arms. I vaguely wondered if his arms were hurting yet, the thought pleased me that he might be in some sort of pain the same as me.
My whole body shook as he bounded across the patio then grass. “Could you at least walk a bit smoother?” I hissed. But to prove he wasn’t going to do anything I said he started skipping across the grass making the two girls laugh.
All the other children were starting to get quieter; probably wondering what was going on.
“Err, Brandon, what are you doing?” Someone asked, I was pretty sure in was Tyler, but since I had my face buried in Brandon’s t-shirt out of embarrassment I didn’t see.
“Well I’m not one hundred per cent sure, but it has something to do with Becca and Evie pulling her down the corridor trying to get her outside; so I said I’d help.” I felt him shrug and turn slightly to face Tyler.
“Really Tyler she was just being silly-“ I cut Becca off.
“Silly? This is against my human rights!” I said mockingly so she didn’t take me that seriously.
“Don’t be a drama queen Charlie! Honestly, all this fuss over a bikini!” Becca over-exaggerated.
“I still don’t understand.” I could hear the confusion in Tyler’s voice to I peeked my head over Brandon’s shoulder to look at him.
“They’re forcing me to wear a bikini against my own free will.” I stated.
“Only because she looks great in it.” Becca countered. I was fully aware now of every person around me listening. Then suddenly Brandon was lowering me down; I looked around and saw I was at the sunbathing chairs. Brandon carefully placed me on one then sat on the grass next to me quickly joined my Tyler.
“I’m sorry about them, they should have done that.” Tyler said so quiet it was only for me to hear. I liked how he knew what to say to make me feel better; like someone was on my side in this madness. But I was worried about my clothing so I crossed my arms over my chest and folded my legs.
