Everyone jumped up and ran over to the poor nurse.

“Are you all the family?” She looked at us in disbelief since none of us looked alike.

“We’re from an orphanage but he’s my blood brother.” Tyler said in a jumble.

“Oh well, I guess I’ll just tell you four then.” She looked at us each in turn until her eyes landed on Tyler. “Your brother had his surgery and his wound is looking good. He had some internal bleeding but luckily he missed all of the major organs.” Everyone sighed in relief.

“Can we go see him?” Tyler asked practically jumping up and down.

“Yes but he won’t be awake for a while since he is heavily sedated.”

“Thank you.” Louise said smiling happily.

The next thing I knew I was wrapped in Tyler’s arms and I was losing my breath from his tight grip.

“He’s going to be okay.” He whispered with his mouth so close to my ear it sent a shiver down my spine.

“I told you so.” I whispered back.

“Thank you!” He placed a soft peck on my cheek then bolted towards the door.

“Good luck.” The grin on my face was huge. But Tyler stopped dead in his tracks spinning around looking shocked. I was about to ask what was wrong when he spoke.

“Charlie, you are coming in aren’t you?” His face looked full with worry.

“No I think I’ll leave you two to see him alone.” Tyler came walking up to me and placed both hands on my shoulders.

“You have to come in.”

“No, Tyler I’m not even that close to him. Just you go in with Becca and I’ll go home.” I knew I probably shouldn’t have even stayed this long but I hadn’t thought about it before.

“But- but I need you.”

“No one’s ever needed me before.” I mumbled quietly moving my gaze towards the floor.

“Well I need you.” He lifted my face up so I could see him; Tyler was grinning down at my embarrassment. “I’ve never seen you embarrassed before.” His mouth was in a perfect smirk. I may have never kissed anyone but I wanted to kiss him then but I knew it wasn’t the right moment.

“That’s because I don’t get embarrassed.”

“Will you come in now?” He gave me the puppy-dog face.

“Fine.”  I smiled at him then pecked his cheek before walking ahead. When I had kissed him it made me go all tingly inside making me think about how it would feel if I kissed his lips. But I knew I could never kiss his lips.

When I reached the door Tyler opened it for me and we walked inside to see Becca crying on Brandon’s arm.

“Becca it’ll be fine; he’ll be fine.” She smiled at my warm words.

“I just wish he wasn’t such an idiot.” We all sighed while Tyler sat down on the other side of the bed.  I stayed back trying to hide away from them.

“Charlie come here.” Tyler sighed and waved me over. I obeyed standing awkwardly next to him. I noticed there was nowhere for me to sit the same time he did. “Sit down.” He patted his lap and I raised my eyebrows I shock.

“Are you sure, I’m quite heavy.” He laughed then nodded. I gently sat on his lap then relaxed a little. But I didn’t relax for long because he wrapped his arm around my waist while placing his head onto my shoulder.
