Because I still love you.
Dallon liked him and he's dead...those facts was hard to believe.
Brendon didn't know what to say, he's still having time to process this. There was a tense silence between them, Brendon had to be careful of what he says next.
"D-Dallon..?" He called out, that name hurt to say.
"Yes, Brendon?" Dallon's view on the many gravestones were now Brendon.
"I--I'm sorry."
"What are you sorry about?" Dallon sat straight up, showing his full attention.
"I feel terrible for not contacting and, well, talking to you for a long time. I don't hate you, I never could. I just...forgot you existed then since I was all caught up in my work. I want to make it up to you somehow, though! Even though, you're, um, dead." Brendon explained.
"How so?"
"I actually...don't have any clue. Do you need anything or want me to do? I'll do anything! I swear!" Brendon promised to himself that no matter what he told him to do, he'll do it.
"You've already it done for me, Brendon." Dallon smiled, however, it looked sorrowful.
"You mean...kill those two people?"
"Y-yeah. Ghosts exist or, I guess, happen, because we have unfinished business. You might have heard of this while watching a certain movie. Thank you for finishing that for me. I couldn't do that while I'm dead." Dallon paused, the look on his face showing that the next thing was hard to say. Brendon couldn't keep his eyes off that look even if he was quite worried.
"One more thing before I leave for an eternity."
Eternity. A word that Brendon wish he shared with Dallon. Now that'll never happen.
"This is going to be silly, but," he stopped to chuckle and Brendon could see that glow on Dallon's cheeks. "The last thing on my unfinished business list is...I have to, uh...kiss you? It's silly, r-right?"
Brendon grinned at that sheepish look on Dallon's face. "It's not silly. It's cute."
The moment was perfect, they were alone and at a graveyard no less. It was quiet but it's a comforting quiet.
"You'll have to hurry then, I can't hold my materialized state for long." With that, Dallon's blue-ish glow and tone began to fade away while his skin tone came back. He was now in color, blue eyes, brown hair, and light pink lips.
Brendon can't believe that someone like Dallon likes him.
Dallon no longer was floating, he was standing up, his feet on the ground.
"Wow, this feels...different. A good different." Dallon smiled, examining and feeling his clothes.
"Well, uh, are you gonna kiss me...or?" Brendon impatiently asked, they've both been waiting for this moment.
"Okay, okay," Dallon giggled, walking over to sit by Brendon's side. They turned their heads to each other. A soft gaze at the other one. The brown and blue contrasted one another. Everything felt nonexistent, it only felt like it was just them, in an blank space.
Brendon closed his eyes first and Dallon did so after. They slightly parted their lips and leaned in to kiss.
It was like the perfect first kiss, if first kisses were ever perfect. Both boys shared a breath and their lips on one another felt too good.
"Dammit..." Dallon broke off the kiss out of the blue and Brendon was saddened by the loss of contact.
"W-what's wrong?"
"I c-can't hold this form any longer and since all the boxes have been checked on the list, I have to..." Dallon couldn't say "leave" since it would hurt, he couldn't even stare at Brendon while he said that.
"Please don't go! You just came back...a-and now you have to g-go...again. I'll miss you, probably even more than miss you! It'll be unbearable." Brendon was frantic and he couldn't let him go, not yet.
"Brendon, I'll always be here for you, I promise. I kn-know that I won't physically be here for you but trust me, I am." Dallon gently smiled even with his body beginning to disappear.
"O-okay...please, just let me know you'll still be here." Brendon requested and looked at Dallon, his torso beginning to vanish.
"I'll try, just for you. I'll see you again, Brendon." And with those final words, he disappeared.
His smile was the last thing Brendon ever saw of him and he'll cherish that memory until he dies.
