"Wait- so how did you even get into this school?" I asked Tom. We were at our lockers during break, waiting for Elijah and Lauren to show up. Tom shut his locker and leaned up against it.
"I know a guy." He smirked. I paused to playfully raise an eyebrow at him,
"Ok, so you're the mysterious one?" He chuckled and crossed his arms,
"For now." There was a moment of awkward silence as I finished putting my belongings away, but it was broken when Tom popped a question,
"You like Marvel?" He gestured towards my wrinkly shirt.
"Yeah, Marvel's pretty cool."
"Who's your favorite?"
"Gosh... it'd have to be Spider-Man, he's been my favorite since day one." Tom's face completely lit up as he went in for a high-five,
"Me too!" I didn't leave him hanging and gave him a high-five back as we laughed over the familiar bond.
"Elijah and Lauren are both DC Comic fans, so they always win the argument of who would win a battle, Batman or Spider-Man?" Tom shook his head, grinning from ear to ear,
"I know exactly how you feel. But don't worry, we'll show them."
"You'll show who what?" A voice from behind me spoke. Elijah and Lauren crept up on us, their hawk ears probably knew exactly what we were talking about.
"Tom happens to be team Spider-Man, therefore, Batman wouldn't win." Suddenly Elijah's face turned to stone, his whole body went stiff. The look on Lauren's face told me that Tom was up to no good. I turned around and saw Tom mouth something to Elijah.
"What do you mean 'play it cool'?" Lauren questioned. Tom struggled to find words,
"Uh, ah, a girl he liked just walked by." Lauren tilted her head,
"Elijah's gay."
"Well I meant a guy, that's what I meant." He nervously smiled, hoping we'd buy it. I knew something was not right, but I let it slide. I just really wanted this boy to like me.I enjoyed every second I spent with Tom. Whether it was a friendly conversation between classes, one of us playfully throwing a pencil at the other, or me questioning his suspicious acts, I enjoyed it. His down to earth personality and god awful puns made me admire him even more. I'm afraid I was falling in love with a guy I've only known for seven hours, and it wasn't slowing down. This wasn't just a stupid crush, it was a longing temptation. I was tempted to push him against a locker and kiss him. I wanted to kiss him so bad. But temptations aren't realistic. That's why they're only temptations, not actions.
-Toms POV-
"Well I meant a guy, that's what I meant." I nervously smiled, praying that no one would catch on. I almost forgot that Elijah is the only one who knows I'm an actor. I know Lauren and Y/N are suspicious of what's going on, which really sucks. It's only my first day here, and I'm already screwing it up.
I realize that Marvel sent me here to experience American High school, and what kind of classes Peter Parker would take, but I've gotten caught up in a distraction.
Y/N L/N.
Y/N is the most gorgeous human being I've ever laid eyes on. She's admirable, humorous, and genuinely well-rounded. It's always a good time whenever you're around her, she's the life of the party. All she wants is to make every boring situation as tolerable as possible, and she succeeds well.I could stare into Y/N's eyes all day and watch her talk passionately about the most random ideas. For example, today during lunch, she didn't stop rambling about her strange encounters with customers at work. She gave them all different voices and described their presence down to the very last detail. She was great at story telling.
I'm just afraid. I'm afraid that I'm falling in love.
I know it sounds weird, since she's a high schooler, but technically she's only one year younger than me. But the real problem with me falling in love with her is, what if I never see her again?
