I then remembered what I needed to give to Tara. I ran upstairs and grabbed Noah's notebook. When I came back down, Daryl was waiting for me.

"What's up?" he asked.

"I need to give Tara this. I'll be right back okay," I said kissing his cheek.

Tara was in the next house. I knocked and was happy she was the one who opened it up.

"Hey, so this is what I wanted to give you. It was Noah's. I know he'd want you to have it," I said handing it over to her.

She took it and opened it up.

"I finished the first sentence for him. I figured you could write some more," I said.

"Thanks, Amelia. Seriously. This is more than I could've asked for," she said.

She went ahead and hugged me tightly.

"Write his story down. And yours. It could be therapeutic or something," I said.

She wiped away her tears and chuckled.

"Yeah. I guess it could be in a way right?" she said.

I nodded.

"Well you better go and get some rest. You've got a big day tomorrow," she said.

"Yeah. That's true. Well, have a good night, Tara. See you tomorrow," I said.

She waved at me as I descended the porch steps. We were all settling in for the night. Daryl and I had both taken a shower and were now getting ready for bed.

"What did Glenn want?" he asked as we laid down under the covers.

"He asked me to look out for Maggie tomorrow," I said.

"So you ain't going?" he asked with a hint of optimism in his voice.

"Not tomorrow but I'll be there for the real thing. Don't celebrate just yet," I said.

He smirked.

"I just feel bad about not helping out," I continued.

"Glenn ask you to look out for Maggie 'cause she's pregnant?" he asked.

"Yeah," I replied.

"It's a good thing you're staying then," he said.

"You're not just saying that?" I asked.

"Nah. I mean it. She's gonna need some looking after. Does she know you're staying?" he said.

"No. I'm sure she'll figure it out though. Get some rest. You've got a big day ahead of you," I said leaning into his chest.

He wrapped his arm around me and kissed my forehead.

"Night," I said reaching up to kiss him.

He then leaned me back and started kissing me passionately.

"Daryl," I said moving away for air.

"We ain't getting interrupted again," he muttered.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer. We spent the rest of the night with our bodies intertwined with one another. Two and a half days was too damn long. The next morning, we had all gotten up early. I had explained to Rick that I wouldn't be going on the dry run due to the fact that there was something that needed to be taken care of here at home. I wasn't sure whether or not Glenn and Maggie wanted me to mention that they were expecting. Surprisingly Rick seemed okay with me not going. I assured him that I would be going tomorrow to get the real deal done. He seemed to have a little of a problem with that.
