Daryl was sitting on the floor by the basement. I went and sat next to him.

"Hey," he said.

"Hi," I retorted.

I rested my head on his shoulder. He kissed my forehead.

"So you had a day," I said taking his hand in mine.

"Was all due to that asshole in there," he said.

"The hell is his deal anyway?" I asked.

"That prick caused us to lose the truck we'd found full of supplies," Daryl said.

"Yeah. Rick told me," I said.

"And I didn't get to give the doc her soda," he said.

"You found some?" I asked looking up at him.

"Yeah. Two cans. But lost 'em because of the asshole," he muttered.

"But at least you found some. And it wasn't any trouble right?" I asked.

"Not at all," he said.

"Are you hungry? I can go and get you something," I said starting to stand.

Daryl then reached out and grabbed my hand.

"Nah. You're enough," he whispered.

He sat me down across his lap and I wrapped my arms around him.

"You should seriously eat something though, "I said leaning into his neck.

"Denise gave me some oatmeal a few minutes before you came by," he said.

"That was nice of her," I said.

He nodded.

"You're drenched, Dixon. I'm assuming you did a lot of running," I said.

"Kind of had to," he said.

"Well, least you got in some cardio," I said.

"Is that supposed to be an upside?" he asked.

"Yeah," I said.

He smiled then leaned in and kissed me. I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him in closer. He tightened his hold around my waist. We parted and pressed our foreheads against one anothers.

"You know I was thinking," he said.

"Yeah. What about?" I asked moving back to get a good look at him.

"You and me," he said.

"Again, what about?" I asked once more.

"We've never gone on a run. Just the two of us," he said.

I smiled.

"Is that something you'd be willing to do? Spending a whole day or longer with my stubborn ass?" I asked teasingly.

"I've put up with your stubborn ass for all this time. Ain't that a good a thing," he retorted jokingly.

I punched his shoulder.

"Don't act as if you haven't enjoyed every minute of it," I said.

He placed his hand on my cheek and turned me to face him.

"Every minute," he said.

I smiled widely and so did he. I kissed him once again.

"So when shall we do this run?" I asked when we parted.

"Well, Rick and I were planning on going again tomorrow. We could tell him that you'll go instead," he said.

Just the two of us on the run. No chance of interruption from anyone aside from walkers. The very thought made me yearn for tomorrow to come sooner.
