All eyes darted at once to Ying, who gulped, twisting her hands nervously.

"W-what can I do?" she asked. Her words trembled with fear.

"I need you need to follow me somewhere. A journey that would take nearly...two weeks, say?" he added hopefully.

"I'm going where ever she's going," Fang stated, standing up.

Older Fang now looked alarmed again.

"Don't!" he snapped so harshly that Fang froze. "Sit back down! You cannot, cannot follow!"

Earth, Wind, Lia, Ying and Yaya were so stunned by this sudden raise of voice that they lost their voice, apparently from shock.

Older Fang was staring hardly at Fang, while the other stared back with deepest loathing. After a moment, older Fang hesitated.

"I shouldn't have snapped. Sorry," he apologised.

He dropped into a chair, massaging his head as though he had a very bad headache. Still, no one dared to speak in case he snapped again.

Wind, casting around for another topic, noticed something else instead. Older Fang did not have his shadow manipulation band strapped on his wrist.

"F-Fang?" Wind stammered timidly.

Both older and younger Fang said, "Hm?"

"I mean older Fang," Wind gulped nervously.

"Yes?" Older Fang raised his eyebrows.

"Where is your power band?" he asked, pointing at his wrist.

"Hey, yeah, where is it?" Ying asked, abandoning fear for curiosity.

But future Fang did not seem to want to talk about it. He shook back his shirt, blocking his wrist from view.

"I lost it." he said grudgingly, when all of them continued to peer at him.

"WHAT?!" all of them burst out. Older Fang winced at their loud voices.

"I still got weapons, OK?" he said defensively.

"We can all help you!" Earth said desperately, confident to the brim. "Not to point out the obvious, but you're defenceless, and you expect you can fight alone with only Ying?"

At this point, the room fell into lengthy silence again. Older Fang was trying his best to make a reason that would suffice, but at the same time, he couldn't tell them the truth-

A doorbell rang sharp and clear. Older Fang immediately jumped on his feet.

"I'll get the door," he said.

"No," Earth said sharply. "Lia will, won't you?"

Lia nodded curtly before getting up the second time. When they heard a door open and close, they were rejoined with the rest of the group.

"Hello guys!" Astor greeted cheerfully, but stopped dead when he saw older Fang.

A flash of light indicated that Lightning had reformed back with Wind and Earth, but no one took this much to their attention.

"Hi, I'm Fang," older Fang said, unable to withstand the awkwardness. "I'm from nineteen years in the future."

He held out a hand to shake, but Astor only shook his cautiously with his eyes narrowed, looking him up and down. While they were doing this, Yaya, Lia and Gopal sneaked out of the dining room unnoticed. Only older Fang, Fang, Astor, Boboiboy and Ying were left behind.

"What may we assist you with?" Astor asked coldly.

"He wants Ying to help accompany him on a journey that would help him." Boboiboy said, before older Fang could so much open his mouth.

Astor glanced back at older Fang to see him nodding.

"How would a journey assist you? Are you trying to make us fall into a trick?" he added suspiciously.

"More the less," older Fang said coolly. "Would you not trust the older version of your teammate for once?"

"How do we know you're not with them?" Ying suddenly spoke.

The others turned their attention to her instead.

"Sorry?" older Fang asked kindly, even though Ying had said loud and clearly.

Ying flushed. She took a moment before saying nervously, "H-how do we know you're not one of them? You know, Serporia and Daniel..."

Older Fang didn't look affronted being questioned like that. On the contrary, his face was completely hidden as he looked down. Ying rather thought she had done something wrong.

"I-I mean," she stammered. "I was just saying, if you- you were-"

"Would the Fang you know lie?" he said in a hushed and dangerous voice.

"I would never lie." Fang stated boldly.

"Now what is this about?" Astor interrupted harshly. "Serporia and Daniel?"

"Now," older Fang said, lifting his head up. He looked quite neutral. "What about the bath I've requested earlier, hm?"

Ying sat in her room, thinking. Should she trust, or not trust? Older Fang didn't have any proof, and she didn't like that. She didn't like to trust blindly, not when her decision could possibly kill her. Where is this journey he is going to bring her to? Why did he need her help, not the others?

All these thoughts whirled non-stop in her head. Why must it be now? First her subject selection, now this. She just has to think about it properly before she tells older Fang...

"No."

It was an early Saturday morning. Ying had confronted older Fang in the dining room. The others were still sleeping with the exception of them and, of course, the early bird Astor, who was taking his usual walk around the neighborhood.

"But...but..." older Fang seemed to struggle for words. He looked much more better since last night, Ying supposed it was his bath. "Why?" he finally said.

Ying sighed. She did not like it either when her Fang was disappointed. "You see, you suddenly appeared in our house, saying you're nineteen years from the future-"

"And I am!" he said angrily.

"Not that I said you aren't, but look, two other people had also came here from nineteen years from the future. And you're asking me to go into this 'journey' of yours. I don't even know you and you expect...you expect me to trust blindly?"

Older Fang was silent, but he nevertheless looked grim.

"Fine, then. I guess I'll just leave." he said, standing up.

"N-no! I don't mean that!" Ying exclaimed, flushing.

"Why can't I?" he said coldly. "I came here to only ask for your help and you denied it. There's no purpose for me being here."

With that, he turned on his heel and walked sleekly away towards the living room.

"Wait!" Ying cried, making to follow him. But when she emerged in the living room, no one was there. The door was left untouched, and windows all closed. She stood there, startled, processing what had just happened...

Did he just...disappear? She wanted very much to punch herself in the face now. What was she thinking? Older Fang probably hates her now...she don't think she can ever look him in the face ever again.
