Albus and Scorpius made their way to the Slytherin common room in the dungeons, following the prefects. Multiple people sneered at the two, Albus especially. One boy named Damon Cade, a black haired boy with sharp features, even went out of his way to make a remark to him.
"A Potter in Slytherin, eh? Why don't you go join Gryffindor where blood traitors like you belong! From what I hear, you're just like your dad: arrogant and a know-it-all!"
Albus was stunned. On the first day here, he had expected people to be a bit nicer. Especially those from his own house.
It was Scorpius who hit the boy back with a remark. "Why don't you go join you daddy and his precious Death Eaters? Don't know why they bother, the Dark Lord is never coming back."
Damon had moved closer to them, and lowered his voice to a meanacing whisper. "Oh really? Just because he was defeated twice by little Potty's father, doesn't mean he can defeat someone even more powerful. You just wait."
Scorpius replied, "Bug off, you stupid git."
Damon Cade trotted off, with a smirk on his face.
Albus's eyes widened. "Do you really think that is true? That there Iis someone more powerful than Voldemort?"
Scorpius shrugged it off. "Nah. I wouldn't bet on it."
Albus took his word for it. But that Damon kid...he didn't trust him at all. His parents supported Lord Voldemort. Who knew who they were friends with now that he was gone? For all they knew, they could be friends with the next most powerful Dark wizard who ever lived. But it was too soon to tell anything.

Later that night, in the Common Room, Albus decided to write his parents a letter. He wasn't sure how they would take his getting into Slytherin; he knew they hated most Slytherins. But Harry had been confident that even if Albus was placed in Slytherin, he would still become a great wizard and always do the right thing.
Dear Mum and Dad,
Things are going okay here, for the most part. I miss you both very much.
I have been sorted into Slytherin House, as per my decision. I hope you can understand.
Rose has been sorted into Gryffindor; I'm sure Uncle Ron will be very happy to hear that!
I have actually made a friend in my House, believe it or not. His name is Scorpius Malfoy; I know, I know, he's Draco Malfoy's son. But don't get too hasty. He isn't like his father was at all. I'm actually quite surprised he got into Slytherin as well, he's so nice. Rose seems to not mind his company either.
A boy in my House, Damon Cade, was trying to provoke us earlier. He had said that there was someone even more powerful than Voldemort coming up. Keep your ears open and keep reading the Prophet will you? Tell me anything suspicious.
Sorry for such a short letter; there isn't much to say as it is only the first day here. I will write back soon. I love you both.
Love,
Albus
Albus put his quill down and rolled his parchment. He would take it up to the owlet in the morning for his owl, Meeko, to take to his parents. He yawned. It had been a long day, and he couldn't wait to sleep. He would think more about what Damon had said to him in the morning.
