My eyes fluttered open. Light was streaming in through the cracks in the curtain. I groaned and rolled out of bed, flicking the light on my phone. 7.30am. I rolled my eyes, got up and put on baggy clothes. I didn't have the most flattering clothing choice.

I went down the hall and knocked on my parents door. My mother opened the door, rollers in her hair and half-done makeup.

"What is it?" She said.

"Can I go to a Welsh island today?" I replied.

"What the hell?! Why?"

"I don't know. Aesthetic purposes."

"Ok then, whatever." And with that, my mum closed the door. I smiled brightly and looked at a notice board I saw when I first came in. There was a poster for ferry rides down to an island called Cairnholm in Wales. Now that's where I want to be.

There was a knock at Miss Peregrine's door and it opened, loudly. At the door stood Horace accompanied by Emma, Olive, Enoch and Jacob. I nodded my head and Horace started talking.

"Miss, um, the girl in my dream. She's coming to the island."

Miss Peregrine nodded again. Emma piped up but was hushed by Horace. Enoch rolled his eyes as Olive fiddled with something on her dress. Jacob seemed fascinated by the wall.

"The older kids would like to collect her or as we know her, Parks."

Miss Peregrine nodded once more. "Is there a reason?"

"Well, yes." Horace stuttered his words. "Another main part of the dream was her fighting off hollows. We were all going to die if she wasn't there."

Miss Peregrine pursed her lips and thought for a bit. Finally, she spoke. "What's her peculiarity?"

Horace shook his head. "I don't know. In the dream, she just did a little stab."

"Enoch, Emma, Jacob and Olive, please collect Miss Parks today."

"Yes, Miss Peregrine."

I boarded the boat. I was the only one on there except an middle-aged man who had a bird book opened. I rolled my eyes.

I stood at the back of the boat and watched the waves. I liked the way the crashed onto each other in perfect harmony. The way the water swished back and forth. It was tranquil. It was peaceful. Until, a large horn blew and over the PA it said, "We have arrived in Cairnholm."

I got off the boat and took my bag in my arms. Where to go first? There wasn't many places to go so I decided to walk down a path, leading to a small hill.

I got glances of people as I walked. There were two boys who rapped badly, a girl who had flames coming out of her hand and a man in- Wait, What?

I turned around to the fire girl and she looked at me in the eyes. She smiled a bit a walked closer to me. I was frightened so a ran to the nearest water source and balled it up in the air.

The girl froze and smiled softly. "Your peculiar too."

I stopped, letting the water go into the ground. She walked around the hill into a rocky area and I screamed.

There stood a girl floating on the end of a rope, a boy holding her with a crossbow slung around his shoulder and another boy with a beating heart in his hand. That's when it went black and I hit the ground.
