Chapter 10                                            The Chaos In Phirea

“I never thought that I could see you again, Iros, Tyfa,” recognized Regis to the new comers.

“Maybe fate is just too playful,” implied Tyfa as she tried to pull a smile from a glum face.

“Who are they?” concerned Nifera who roused from her sleep when she heard unfamiliar voices. She went behind Regis.

“So this is the mortal; the reason you left Phirea,” identified Iros.

“Don’t worry Nifera,” calmed Regis. “They’re my friends.” He faced Iros. “Yes she is, but asking about her isn’t a sufficient reason for both of you to descend here, is it?”

“Are they here for our son?” bothered Nifera.

“Calm down, mortal,” told Tyfa. “We won’t do anything to the child.” She turned to Regis. “I believe we had interrupted you in sealing you your son’s riukan, but that can wait. You should know our cause here immediately.”

            “What is it?” questioned Regis.

“I assume you’re already aware that there’s something happening in Phirea,” supposed Iros.

“Yes. I’m certain that it’s the reason behind the unusual tragedy during the baptism of my son,” recalled Regis. “What happened?”

“The Crystal of Light and Dark was stolen,” replied Iros.

“Stolen?” terrified Regis. He understood the horrifying risk when the crystal would be in wrong hand. “Who stole it?”

“Kurthos,” answered Tyfa. “Now, Phirea and even Earth are in great danger.”

“Kurthos!” shocked Regis. “Why did he?” How did it happen?”

“No one of the guardians of the Phirean temple speculated his awful plan, thus he could easily entered the room where the crystal was located,” told Iros. “With all his strength, he struggled to take the crystal from the hollowed flame. That action caused the tragedy that trembled Phirea and Earth. We were alarmed by it so the members of the Twelve Knights, including us and the Phirean soldiers swiftly go through the temple. We had seen Kurthos very drained with power, lying near the golden torch, but holding the black part of the crystal. The half white part was mysteriously gone. He used the black crystal, and a dark force had covered his body. His power increased drastically. We all fought him for days, yet as he understood the power of the crystal, he became invincible. Many of us died. We’re here to ask for your help.”

“That Kurthos!” angered Regis. “Where’s Griav?”

“We, three planned to descend here, unfortunately Kurthos saw us,” responded Tyfa. “Griav sacrificed his life to stop him, so I and Iros have managed to get here.”

“Kurthos!” Regis burst out. Aura raged off from his body. He was about to lose his temper until he remembered his wife and son. He tried to calm down. Finally, he put himself together. He turned to his wife. “Nifera, I have to go,” he said serenely with a smile. “The death of Griav and the other Phireans should never be wasted for nothing. I also need to protect Phirea and Earth for the sake of everyone, especially for you and our son.”
