(This is based off of the song called "I Was An Island" by Allison Weiss. Song up top so you can listen to it! Also, the fanfic was based off of the video)

I was an island

Virgil sits in the lounge of the mind palace silently. He is scrolling through Tumblr on his phone, with his resting bitch face.

Before you came along

Roman comes in, smiling. He sits next to him. "Hello, my chemically imbalanced romance!" He exclaims.

Put your boat in my sand

Virgil smiles slightly. "Hello to you too, Roman." He rolls his eyes lightly. Roman just smiles.

Hand in my hand

Roman grabs Virgil's hand, which had been hanging loosely to his side. They intertwine fingers.

Your heart in my song

The two boys smile, and Roman softly kisses Virgil's cheek. Virgil blushes, and Roman hums a random Disney song. They stay like that, calm, for hours.

I was a fighter

Months earlier, the two boys stand back to back, not daring to look at each other. The hatred was basically radiating off the the two boys.

And I was so brave

Roman softly intervenes his pinkie finger with Virgil's, both supposed-enemies blushing.

But I lowered

Roman glances over at Virgil, sensing sadness and negativity.

My sword

Roman turns Virgil around to face him. Tears stream down Virgil's cheeks, and he looks up at Roman.

When you held me

Roman pulls Virgil into a hug, petting his hair softly.

And swore you'd stay

Virgil's eyes widen, tears still streaming.

Stay, stay, oh

Virgil closes his eyes, hugging back and still sobbing.

I can't do this alone anymore

Virgil pushes Roman away, but looks up at him.

'Cuz I'm no good

Virgil cries, looking at Roman. Tears brim his eyes lightly, as well.

On my own

Virgil reaches his hand out to Roman.

Anymore

Roman grabs his hand, tears starting to spill.

What did I do to deserve this?

The two boys sit together, the tears not yet gone.

What did you do to me?

Virgil sits up, more tears on the way. He looks at the ground, Roman sitting next to him, but looking the opposite way.

Baby come back

Current time, Roman faces Virgil with a blush on his cheeks.

You know I don't wanna

Roman pulls his boyfriend towards him, resting his forehead against the others. There are small frowns on both of their faces, remembering the time they first had some sort of bond.

Be free

That frown changes to a smile and a blush, as both traits kiss each other and enjoy the company.
