Chapter 3: Waking Up

 ϟ ϟ ϟ

It had been four days and Delilah still hadn't woken up. She had been moved from the old couch in the living room to Charlie Weasley's vacant room. Arthur had moved one of the extra beds they had into the same room so that Jacob could be in the same room as his sister.

He never used the bed though, he sat by Delilah's side and held her hand, occasionally drifting off into a quick slumber but not for long, he wanted to be right by her side and awake when she gained consciousness again.

The Weasley's tried to convince Jacob to come down and eat, maybe teach him how to play Quidditch so they could get his mind off his sister, but he never wanted to leave Delilah's side. After they discovered that Jacob and Delilah were also Wizards the Weasleys relaxed knowing that Jacob saw them do magic.

On the fourth day they finally persuaded Jacob to come down and eat a meal with them. After he filled his starving belly, he agreed to learning about Quidditch from the Weasley children.

While children played Quidditch in the field nearby, Albus Dumbledore was appearing out of thin air to check up and see if the young girl has woken up.

But what none of them knew was the 13-year-old girl was just waking up from her slumber.

Delilah's eyes  sharply opened, her breathing seemed to stop for a moment until she glanced around the unfamiliar room.

She had no clue where she was.

Her breathing sped up and it was ragged and heavy. Delilah looked around trying to find anything remotely familiar. Her brother, maybe a chair, or even a pillow. But the distressed girl found nothing

Delilah stood up from the bed she woke up on and stumbled slightly, but regained her footing. She quickly and quietly ran across the room and to the door. She tried to open the door silently, but the door creaked loud and obnoxiously.

Delilah tip-toed down the stairs, just as she neared the bottom of the never-ending staircase she stopped abruptly when she heard voices. The young girl peaked around the corner to find two red-headed adults, a man and a women, and an old man with a long white beard dressed in the strangest clothes Delilah had ever seen!

The brunette girl tried to listen as closely as she could without being seen or heard.

Delilah look to see the old man talking.

"Molly. Arthur," He greeted the two red-heads, "Has the girl woken yet?"

'Wait, are they talking about me?' Delilah thought to herself.

She carefully inched towards the wall closer and she heard the woman reply to the man, "Unfortunately no, she has been unconscious for four days and her brother is starting to worry."
