Sleep

I wake, head pounding, body aching,
My mind for a split second faking.
It does not want to ascend to waking,
For my sanity is on the verge of braking.
So it lays there, cold and shaking,
Drifting back, as the dark starts overtaking.
Falling back before the happiness was forsaken,
I sink farther deep, but don't be mistaken.
I know well enough I will have to wake,
But till then I will drift deep, and partake,
In this endless sea of darkness that I hold dear,
For deep in this abyss I have no fear...
