At half past seven the next morning, we were in the Aroma of Christ Church pitching what we had found out yesterday.
“We stayed up all night making this,” Doug said happily, gesturing for the not-amused captain to look at the massive diagram of dealers.
“Unfortunately,” I muttered, rubbing my eyes due to lack of sleep.
“All yarn work was done by Jenko,” Doug continued, ignoring my comment.
“Don’t say that!” snapped Brad (I’m gonna keep calling them by their undercover names so I don’t get mixed up at school from now on).
“Okay Captain, look,” he continued, “So the dealers are the popular kids, but they’re not normal popular kids, they’re the crunchy granola dudes who have convinced everyone they’re cool but they’re not cool. It’s backwards and unnatural and it has to stop.”
“Calm down,” I murmured, so only he could hear me, and he turned to me, mouthing ‘Okay’ and making me smile.
Then they mentioned how Eric was the head dealer and Doug went on into all this useless crap about him and how me totally gets him and all that shit.
“Cut the bullshit!” demanded the captain, “I want to know who the supplier is,” he leant back in his chair expectantly.
“Well we don’t know sir, that’s why there is a question mark on his face,” answered Doug, pointing to the silhouette with a question mark in it labelled ‘Supplier’, “That’s not the way his face looks. That’s just a question mark,” Doug clarified, and I openly laughed, ignoring the captain’s scowl.
“Infiltrate the dealers, find the suppliers, simple!” he yelled before getting up and going into his office.
Then two of the female undercover agents stopped us as we were going to the car to drive to school. They started talking shit about how they had got their first bust yesterday, but I couldn’t be bothered today, so I took the car keys out of Brad’s pocket so that I could push past them and get in the car to wait for them all to finish arguing so I could be driven to school.
When we parked the car, Doug went straight up to Eric and crew, leaving me and Brad behind.
“Hey, at recess today will you come to the Chemistry classroom with me? I need to find some stuff out and I don’t wanna go alone,” Brad pleaded, giving me the puppy dog eyes.
“Fine,” I agreed, happy to help, “But you’ve gotta pick me up from class because I have no idea where I’m going.”
He laughed but agreed.
As we passed by Eric and co I got a ‘hi’ which I politely returned, before making my way to class.
